Bishop Dr. Mark Omonze, Presiding Bishop of All Grace Cathedral Church, Lagos, has advised fellow ministers of God to desist from attributing to the Holy Ghost the calamity or punishment of offenders and sinners, saying the Host Ghost is never behind the calamity of anyone. Omonze passed this advice in his message of exhortation to the new apostles ordained by Prayer and Intercession School (PIS) recently in Lagos.
The bishop told the new apostles that with their ordination they had been endued with the supernatural power of the Holy Ghost for service and not to punish offenders. He particularly pointed that their mouths have received that power such that whatever they utter; either good or bad, will come to pass. Therefore, he warned them against using that power negatively like some Bible characters such as Moses and the apostles by controlling their emotions and utterances at all times.
“As you are ordained today as apostles you have become gifts to the body of Christ to serve the body and not to ruin the body. You are now ambassadors of Christ. You have been endued with the supernatural power of the Holy Ghost to serve the body. Your mouths especially are now filled with that supernatural power, such that whatever you utter with your mouths; either good or bad, will definitely come to pass.
“So, be careful how you use that power. You have been endued with that power to serve and not to punish offenders like Moses and the apostles who killed Ananias and Sapphira out of emotions and anger. It was the apostles; not the Holy Ghost, that killed Ananias and Sapphira because the couple lied.
“The Holy Ghost does not kill liars. If the Holy Ghost kills liars, then with all the lies that many pastors are telling on their pulpits today, none will be alive now. Control your emotions and utterances at all times to avoid using wrongly or negatively the Holy Ghost supernatural power that you have been endued today as apostles,” Omonze finally charged the new apostles
