The Root of Grace Ministry Inc will tomorrow host the residents of Ayobo community and its environs to a free health service and other compassionate gestures.

The event is a yearly programme of the US-based humanitarian ministry aimed at showing the love and compassion of Jesus Christ to people shortly before Christmas festivity.

Minister John Olufemi Oyegunle, the head of the ministry, in a chat with Christian Benefits said the main roots of the ministry of Jesus are love and compassion to people, particularly the less privileged, the oppressed and the afflicted in the society.

“The Root of Grace Mission Inc is patterned after the life and ministry of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Our mission is to the less privileged, the oppressed and the afflicted. So, every year shortly before Christmas festivity we visit a rural community in Nigeria and give the love and compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ to the people and residents of that community. This year 2021 we are taking the love and compassion of Jesus Christ to the less privileged, the oppressed and the afflicted among the people and residents of Ayobo community and its environs,” Oyegunle explained.

The mission and vision of The Root of Grace Ministry Inc are provision of free health care screening & assistance, provision of school supplies and scholarship, provision of shelter and household supplies to the needy, provision of food bank to the hungry and provision of counseling and chaplaincy services where required.

“Jesus is the root of our ministry. And in line with the pattern of his ministry, we will conduct free blood sugar test, free consultation on eyes test/screening, provide comfort to the dying (hospice care), free eye classes among other compassionate gestures of Jesus Christ for the people and residents of Ayobo community,” Oyegunle disclosed

The one-day event, which starts from 10am till 3pm tomorrow December 15, 2021, will hold at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG, Rivers of Living water), Ashipa Road, Amule Bus stop, Ayobo, Lagos.

“By God’s grace we are planning to expand the scope of our mission in Nigeria. We have plans for a residential structure to house widows, orphans, the homeless and the destitute. Aside our regular activities, we shall be visiting the dying in homes, hospitals and prisons and share the compassion and love of Christ with them. We will pray and share the word of God with them, and make them joyful even if they will die the next minute. God may heal and avert the death of some of them because we believe that with God all things are possible,” Minister John Olufemi Oyegunle assured.
