How God raised me from touting to meet Ghanaian President- Emmanuel

Prophet Taiwo Abiodun Emmanuel in this interview with Christian Benefits on Exploits of Nigerian Preachers in the Diaspora, shares how God raised him from a tout in Nigeria to speak to the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Ado, on the 2016 elections in Ghana and the impact of his church, Unstoppable God Praise & Prayer Evangelistic Ministry, Accra, in the West Africa Country.

Please, can we meet you sir?

My name is Taiwo Abiodun Emmanuel from Olaloko family of Igbore, Abeokuta, Ogun state. I was formerly a tout on the streets of Lagos and secular musician before my encounter with Christ.

Briefly share with us your rebirth encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ

I gave my life to Jesus shortly after I returned from a show at Ijora Badiya on a Christmas day. When I returned from that show I realized I had nothing on me. So, I Iayed on a table inside my mother’s food canteen. Whenever I returned from shows I always realized I had nothing on me but when I touched my pocket I felt I had money inside it. This time too as I layed on the table, I touched my pocket and felt I had money inside it. When I dipped my hand in the pocket; instead of money, it was a gospel tract given to me by my friend and colleague, Segun Adefolu that I brought out of the pocket. I decided to read the tract and saw the topic of the message on it; “Where Will You Spend Your Eternity.” This topic gripped my heart. Immediately, I stood up, read the address on the tract: He’s Alive Ministries. a.k.a Christ Gospel Miracle Centre (CGMC), 22/24 Aladesuru street, Papa Ajao, Mushin, and went to the church. That was the day I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ in that church.

How long have you been walking with the Lord, and how will you describe your walking with Him over the years?

I have been walking with the Lord for about 26 years now, and enjoying walking with Him. The only way I can describe my walking with the Lord is incomparable.

Share with us your growing up in Nigeria before your relocation to Ghana

My growing up in Nigeria was far better than in Ghana. If it was not that God directed me to start the journey of my ministry in Accra, Ghana, I wouldn’t have moved to Ghana.

Since when have you been living in Ghana, and how will describe your experience as a Nigerian living n Ghana?

I will celebrate my 6th years of living in Ghana this year December. I thank God for His faithfulness. Within these 6 years I have experienced many challenges as a foreigner in Ghana because it is a country I didn’t know anyone before moving there. But today with the help of God I now know lots of people in Ghana. Ghana is a place you will fight for yourself. It is a place where even your biological father can pretend he doesn’t know or see you. Even you will see people speaking the same language with you trying to avoid you because of many reasons.

Tell us about your ministry in Ghana; its name, vision and programmes 

The name of the ministry is Unstoppable God Praise & Prayer Evangelistic Ministry, Accra, Ghana. The vision of the ministry is preaching the genuine word of God, soul winning and revival. The regular programmes of the ministry are: Night of Covenant, Pregnant & Waiting mothers counseling, Bible Study, 7 days, 7 Prophets evening service and Sunday worship service. Every Tuesday, we hold victorious prayers where God in His mercy delivers lots of people and pregnant/waiting mothers bearing fruit safely to the glory of God.

Again, share with us the impact and contributions of your ministry in Ghana

The first impact of Unstoppable God Praise & Prayer Evangelistic Ministry in Ghana was during the 2016 general elections in the country when God sent me to the Ghanaian president, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Ado but I didn’t know how to see him. The Baptist church I was attending then in 2016; a very big church has many people of high calibre that know how to help me to see the president and deliver God’s message to him. But, because I was then new in Ghana, and also in that church when I shared the prophecy God gave to me with some of the elders in that church that it was angels that would vote President Nana Akufo-Ado to office; and not the Ghanaian votes, many of them thought I wanted to showcase myself, and which was not the case, until the prophecy came to pass that some of them came back to me and said if they had known they would have showed me how to see the president. We keep praying for the land of Ghana that the people around the place we are using are testifying to the glory of God. We are still believing God for a better location in Ghana. It is not easy to get many things in Ghana if you are a foreigner. We keep trusting in God who sitteth in heaven and doeth what pleases him (Psalm 115: 3). The ministry is moving on to the glory of God and always praying for Ghana.

Tell us about your church congregation in Ghana

Presently, we are using my parlour for our services because of land issues in Ghana. The ministry started fully in October 2020 because I had lots of challenges since I arrived in Ghana. The ministry scattered twice but we keep going because it is the work of an unstoppable God; and not mine. To the glory of God we are not up to 20 in congregation.

Who are those you look up to as your mentors in ministry?

My foremost mentor is Almighty God.  My other mentors in ministry are like Prophet Segun Olowoyeye, Prophet Peter Olowoporoku, Prophet Sam Olu Alo and Prophet Hezekiah, the General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C) worldwide

How is it like running a church in Ghana compared to Nigeria?

Running a church in any strange land; not only in Ghana, is not easy. There are many challenges, obstacles and discouragements you face that if you do not know whom you are serving, and that called you, you will end up closing down your ministry in that strange land.

How often do you visit Nigeria, and do you plan to return home someday?

I frequently visit Nigeria because I always get invitations from churches in Nigeria to minister at their revivals and other programmes. Definitely, I will finally return to Nigeria in the future. God never told me to forget my home. He only told me to go back to the same country I had been duped, and start a ministry there. Many Nigerian pastors have come to Ghana and returned to Nigeria. Whenever I meet such pastors, I ask them in the first place did God tell you to come to Ghana? From their response I discovered most of them were not told by God to come to Ghana.
