Prophetess Dr. Ololola Odetola (JP) was recently honored by Anointed University University (ANUCITY) worldwide with an honorary (PhD) in Church Administration. The lovely prophetess, who is the shepherd-in-charge of Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C Dynamic Christian Centre, Shiloh Arena), Abule Egbe, Lagos, was honored alongside Apostle Wole Oladiyun, Prophet Oluwatosin Odeyemi, Hajia Neemat Daud Absulrahim and His Royal Highness, Chief Peter W. Olukanmi at the 25th Founder’s Anniversary/Award Convocation of Anointed University (ANUCITY) worldwide held at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Akoka, Lagos.
Although she has received other awards before her latest PhD honor by ANUCITY, Odetola describes her PhD honor by the Johannesburg; South Africa-based Anointed University Worldwide , as so amazing and wonderful. Her words: “This particular award means a lot to me, although it is not my first doctorate (PhD) award. I received my first PhD award in 2013, but this one is more elaborate among all the honors I have received. This particular one is so amazing and wonderful that I really appreciate the Lord for it.
“Prof. George & Prof. Kate Aladeola, the President and Vice President of Anointed University (ANUCITY) worldwide, respectively are a wonderful, amazing and lovely couple. I love them so much. I haven’t found so lovely and bonded couples like them. I pray God will continue to uphold them till eternity,” She prayed.
Born over 60 years ago in Ghana into a Muslim family, Prophetess Dr. Ololade Odetola (JP) had a very rough background. “My background was very rough but I thank God for his grace. I was born in Ghana over 60 years ago. Our parents brought us to Nigeria in 1967 to a town where women weren’t allowed to go to school. We spent almost 2 years there before our parents brought us to Lagos. I started my primary school all over again at Eleja primary school Itire, Mushin, Lagos. I had my secondary school at Holy Saviour College, Isolo, Lagos. I trained myself and furthered my education at Olabisi Onabanjo University where I earned a certificate in Human Relations. I also attended the Redeemed Bible College. I thank God for where I am today by His grace,” the prayerful prophetess shared with Christian Benefits.
Prophet Ololade Odetola further told the magazine that she had her first encounter with God at the age of six. As someone who loves singing, she joined a church choir despite her Muslim background and name. However, the process of her rebirth to becoming a Christian began during her visit to a Cherubim & Seraphim (C&S) church. She explains: “I attended a Cherubim & Seraphim (C&S) church on a particular day and was told that I have to go on 21 days trance. My mother came to that church and fetched me back home, shouting my child is not a Christian. She is a Muslim. So, I couldn’t go on that 21 days trance (fasting & prayer) in that C&S assembly. Ironically, my same mother instead took me to a Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C). So, it was in C.A.C that I received Jesus Christ in my life and began my Christian life in 1968,” Prophetess Odetola shared.
Shortly after she got converted as a believer in Christ Jesus, Ololade introduced Christ to her Muslim parents and converted them too unto the Lord. “I converted my parents too to the Christian faith,” she said. As a young believer then, Ololade was sold out completely to a life of prayer. She regularly attended Morning Prayer in different churches to the point that many people started drawing her attention to the call of God upon her life, pointing to her that God wants to use her. “I was so young then that I didn’t understand the meaning of God want to use me until 1987 when I joined the Ibukun Society in my Christ Apostolic Church assembly then.
“While about 65 of us members of the Ibukun Society were fervently praying one particular day, a message came forth to me that I’m a vessel of God. From that moment I began hearing the voice of the Lord that He wants to use me. In the course of this, we started a women prayer group in 1989. The group held prayer meeting every Wednesday and vigil prayer meeting every Friday. Along the line, I attended a particular revival programme, and one of the prophets at the meeting called me out and told me God said I should leave my job to serve Him full time. In 2013 I heard a voice from the Lord told me the same thing; that I should leave my job to serve Him full time. I shared this with my husband and we both went somewhere and prayed together about it. Thereafter, we started the church, Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C Dynamic Christian Centre, Shiloh Arena), in our house in 1993 with just five people.
According to her, the mandate of her calling by God is to win souls for Christ through the preaching of the word of God. To fulfill this mandate, God endowed her with the gifts of preaching and counseling. And in line with the mandate of her commission, Prophet Odetola’s Christ Apostolic Church (Shiloh Arena) runs some special programmes such as 72 Hours Shiloh Night every July and Shiloh Night on the second Friday of every November. Both programmes are for those trusting the Lord for the fruit of the womb (for baby).
“Aside the annual Shiloh Night in July and November respectively every year, we run regular weekly programmes where God impacts lives with profound testimonies. There is a testimony of a pregnant woman who passed on and the Lord brought her back to life in this church. There is also testimony of a brother in our church who was miraculously rescued from kidnappers. There countless testimonies of fruitfulness, healing, deliverance and salvation of souls at the various programmes of this mount; Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C Dynamic Christian Centre, Shiloh Arena), ” she shared.
Prophetess Dr. Odetola also shared her experience as a female church leader, saying she was blessed with an understanding and supportive husband who she said encourages and assists her in the running of the church as an ordained pastor in the ministry. She admitted that she has had her fair share of misunderstandings with her husband as a female church leader. The amiable prophetess says she applies wisdom, patience and the word of God in protecting her husband and marriage from crashing due to the demands of her ministry.
“I thank God for the husband He gave to me. He is the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh, and verse versa . He encourages me tremendously and makes the work of God easier for me. We both place God first. However, we don’t allow the work of God to affect our home. At the same time, we don’t allow our home to affect the work of God. We strike a balance between the two. We come to church together and return home together. We have been married since 1982. As a woman if you have understanding and you are generous and you are a good counselor to your husband you will protect him from strange women and build a happy home for your family. That doesn’t mean I haven’t had my own fair share of misunderstandings with my husband since we got married in 1982.
“There was a time I had a very hot quarrel with my husband. I packed my luggage and returned to my mother’s house. When my mother saw me, I explained to her what happened between my husband and me, and told her I had returned to her house to spend two months. She thundered, never! She advised me to return to my husband’s house and prayerfully resolve our differences. I returned home to my husband in shame and never dared again to return to my mother’s house over any misunderstanding with my husband. My husband too is an ordained pastor in C.A.C (Shiloh Arena). He was ordained by Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C).”
