Nigerian Christian Community Mourns Rev. G.F Oyor (By Akinyemi Alabi)

A popular front line Nigerian gospel preacher, Rev. Dr. Gomba Fortune Oyor has reportedly passed on to glory. Rev. (Dr.) Gomba Fortune Oyor (Bsc, M.Ed, Ph.D) was a highly revered and vibrant evangelist based in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. He was the Founder of God Will Do It Ministries Inc. Ibadan and former founding member and President of Student Christian Movement (SCM) branch of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Hart court, Rivers State.

The amiable late Rev. G.F Oyor was also a former National Travelling Secretary of SCM of Nigeria. The deceased was also a renowned teacher and author of several evangelistic Christian books which include Complete Deliverance and Healing in Jesus Name, How to Move Your Mountains, Healing For All, Ibadan, Knowing God Intimately, Covenants, Curses and the Ways Out, among several other inspiring books. God Will Do It Ministries is located at House II, Road 3181015 NW8, Farayola Layout, behind Bodija, Market. Ibadan, Nigeria.

The late Rev. G.F Oyor was educated at the Rivers State University of Science & Technology, the University of Ibadan and Haggai Institute of Advanced Leadership Training, Singapore, Southeast Asia. He will be greatly missed by the global Christian community, particularly his several protégés across the world.

The Senior Pastor of GOPAM Global Ministries, Oyo, Rev. Samuel Olaniyi, who is one of Rev. G.F Oyor’s closest protégés, described the passing of the highly respected preacher as a great shock. “Rest in peace daddy, the news of your transition to glory got to me today as a great shock. What a loving and caring General we have lost again in the Body of Christ. Too painful,” Olaniyi mourned.

Pastor Ayo Akereke, Lead Pastor of Rhema for Living Assembly, in his tribute on the deceased, described the late Rev. Oyor as a fiery and faithful minister of God. His words: “Rev. Gomba F. Oyor, we celebrate your passage to glory sir. You were among the fiery army of faithful ministers that God raised in South West Nigeria in the late 70s and early 80s, together with God’s servants such as Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Pastor Olubi Johnson, Rev. Lekan Babatunde, Rev. I.D Lawson, Dr. Obed, Dr.  Moses Aransiola, and a few others. A lot of us are the products of your labour and faithfulness to God. Your ministry made significant impact on the lives of countless number of people. Today, earth has yielded to heaven’s craving. You are now joined with the great cloud. We celebrate your legacy sir, and we trust God to strengthen us to build on your legacies to keep the candle of truth! Rest on sir,” Arekere eulogized the late preacher.
