UGCAN Inaugurates Nigerian Pastors’ Forum to Drive Church Unity, National Transformation
The United Gospel Churches Association of Nigeria (UGCAN) has formally announced the inauguration of the Nigerian Pastors’ Forum, a strategic quarterly gathering aimed at fostering unity, strengthening leadership, and enhancing the role of the Church in national development.
The initiative, unveiled in an official communiqué, is designed to bring together pastors and ministry leaders across denominations for sustained dialogue, spiritual alignment, and collaborative engagement on issues affecting both the Church and the nation.
According to the communiqué signed by Dr. Wole Olarinde, Executive Director of UGCAN, the Forum is positioned as a platform to “strengthen the Body of Christ and enhance the collective impact of the Church in Nigeria,” particularly in areas of moral leadership and societal transformation.
The Forum will operate under the annual theme, “Strengthening the Church for National Transformation and Kingdom Influence,” with a structured quarterly focus addressing key areas of concern. These include unity and alignment within the Church in the first quarter, leadership and accountability in the second, the Church’s role in governance and the economy in the third, and revival and expansion in the fourth quarter.
UGCAN disclosed that the Nigerian Pastors’ Forum will be held quarterly, each session spanning two days, typically scheduled for the first Thursday and Friday of March, June, September, and December. Specific dates and venues are to be announced ahead of each meeting.
A detailed programme outline shows that each gathering will feature keynote addresses, teaching sessions, panel discussions, and intercessory prayers for Nigeria. Participants will also engage in breakout sessions focusing on ministry growth, youth leadership, and economic empowerment, alongside opportunities for networking and strategic partnerships.
Day one of the Forum will focus on alignment and impartation, including registration, worship, keynote presentations on apostolic leadership, and panel discussions on the Church’s role in national development. The day will conclude with prayers and intercession for the nation.
The second day will emphasize strategy and commissioning, with sessions on leadership and governance, followed by breakout discussions and the drafting of a communiqué outlining resolutions. The Forum will end with a prophetic charge and commissioning of participants.
Among its key objectives, the Forum seeks to promote unity among Christian leaders, strengthen sound doctrine, provide a platform for addressing national issues from a Kingdom perspective, and equip pastors with tools for effective ministry and governance. It also aims to encourage strategic partnerships that will contribute to national development.
Resolutions adopted at the inaugural session underscore a commitment to unity within the Body of Christ, continuous intercession for Nigeria, and the promotion of integrity and accountability in ministry. The Forum also resolved to actively engage in nation-building efforts across critical sectors such as governance, education, and the economy.
UGCAN emphasized that the Nigerian Pastors’ Forum will serve as a standing platform for sustained engagement, alignment, and action among church leaders nationwide.
“The Forum is envisioned as a movement that will shape the future of the Church and contribute meaningfully to the transformation of Nigeria,” the communiqué stated.
Pastors, ministry leaders, and relevant stakeholders have been encouraged to actively participate in the quarterly gatherings, aligning with what UGCAN described as a divine mandate for Kingdom advancement and national progress.
