The President of Christian Universal Renewal Mountain (CURM), Rev. Dr. Sunday Ajani Olutade, recently hosted members of his congregation to a special Good Friday service where he served what he called “Ounje Aro Oluwa” (The Lord’s Breakfast) to the congregants.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Christian Benefits magazine, Dr. Olutade described the initiative as a divine concept received through a vision, aimed at extending Holy Communion to worshippers who are traditionally excluded from participating in the Lord’s Supper.
“Ounje Aro Oluwa (The Lord’s Breakfast) is a new concept in Christian Universal Renewal Mountain (CURM), which we inaugurated during our recent Good Friday service at our church located at 10 Ajani Olutade Street, off Ahmed Oghere Street, Liasu Road, Idimu, Lagos,” he said.
“I received this concept in a vision while waiting on the Lord a few days before Good Friday. In that vision, the Lord instructed me to serve ‘The Lord’s Breakfast’ to worshippers who, by doctrine, are excluded from the usual Lord’s Supper. This is because Jesus Christ died for all humanity without excluding anyone.”
He further explained that while the Lord’s Supper is traditionally reserved for committed believers, The Lord’s Breakfast is designed to accommodate everyone.
“The Lord’s Supper is strictly and exclusively for genuine believers, but The Lord’s Breakfast is for everyone. Since Christ died for all, and the Easter celebration commemorates His death for humanity, this concept is meant to embrace those who are often excluded,” he added.
Dr. Olutade emphasized that Ounje Aro Oluwa is not a one-time program but a continuous concept that will be observed as the need arises.
“It is not a fixed program. The Scriptures did not specify a particular time for administering the Lord’s Supper. The instruction is to do it as often as necessary in remembrance of Him. The monthly observance practiced in many churches is a human tradition, not a strict biblical directive. Therefore, at CURM, we will serve ‘The Lord’s Breakfast’ as occasions demand, in remembrance of the death of Jesus Christ,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the cleric, who is also the CEO of Funtade Tours, addressed concerns about the ongoing tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, noting that the situation would not have stopped his organization from taking pilgrims to Israel if not for government-imposed restrictions.
“We believe safety comes first in every situation, especially during conflicts. However, the ongoing tensions did not prevent the Iranian national football team from playing a recent friendly match against Nigeria in Turkey. FIFA’s position on politics and sports is clear—it does not permit political interference in its activities,” he said.
“The Iranian team did not appear affected by war; they played normally. But for the Federal Government’s directives and restrictions, Funtade Tours would have continued taking pilgrims to the Holy Land during this period,” he concluded.
