THE DANGER OF SECOND-HAND GOSPEL

SPIRITUAL IGNORANCE AMONGST PREACHERS

Truth withstands investigation.
Counterfeits fear it.

The truth is this: many of us who call ourselves servants of God are operating on a hand-out gospel, a second-hand truth. We did not receive it by revelation; we inherited it by association.

They have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
Romans 10:2

The knowledge of God’s truth is a gift. Truth is not merely learned; it is revealed. It is not secured by Bible school certificates, spiritual lineage, or proximity to a daddy G.O. or mommy G.O. Because what you learn from a mommy G.O. is often what she learned from her own mommy G.O., and what a daddy G.O. teaches is what he received from his own daddy G.O.

And if you are humble and honest enough to go down that rabbit hole, tracing origins, asking questions, studying foundations, you will eventually discover a painful truth: much of what we practice today is a counterfeit of what Christ truly established. You cannot deny that.

Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 16:17

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:10

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men and not according to Christ.
Colossians 2:8

In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
Matthew 15:9

The funny and tragic part is that many of us now come out on social media and public platforms speaking with deep sincerity, yet we do not realize that sincerity does not cover ignorance. Passion does not replace truth. Noise does not equal knowledge.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Hosea .4:6

Not many of you should become teachers, for you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
James 3:1

Spiritual ignorance is the reason we operate the way we do in organized religious Christianity, making a caricature of ourselves. Those who truly know the truth are often silent, watching from behind the scenes. Some are quietly shaking their heads. Some are silently laughing, not out of mockery, but out of disbelief at what the faith has been reduced to.

Paint this mental picture clearly.
A half-baked preacher in a badly tailored preaching gown, wearing a funny-looking mitre, shouting on a staged altar, with a voice that mimics area boys. A lot of noise. A lot of drama. A lot of performance. Very little revelation. Costume without calling. Volume without authority. Movement without truth. That is not power. That is spiritual ignorance on full display.

This is why humility is something you do not play with if you claim to be a minister of God. You do not throw yourself out there as if you know everything. Someone who truly understands the truth may be watching you, and your ignorance becomes obvious.

If anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.
1 Corinthians 8:2

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
James 4:6

If you wanted to start a business, common sense demands that you study it. How did it start? Who built it? What principles govern it? That is how people achieve lasting success. You do not just jump into something because others are doing it or because you were caught into it. Even if you were divinely caught into it, research is still required. The same principle applies to ministry.

The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.
Proverbs 21:5

Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

Many who are parading themselves as promoters of doctrines, movements, and systems do not even know what they are propagating. The same thing applies to those who oppose others loudly. Many do not even understand what they are opposing.

They desire to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.
1 Timothy 1:7

Sometimes silence feels like the safest option, but silence allows error to continue unchecked. Silence allows mistakes to multiply.

Cry aloud, spare not; lift up your voice like a trumpet.
Isaiah 58:1

Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
Ephesians 5:11

So here is a humble but urgent counsel.
If you are a servant of God, whether God truly called you or you called yourself, sit down. Study what you are propagating. Study its origin. Study its foundation. Study who you are promoting and what you are promoting. Do not make a fool of yourself in public space.

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.
2 Corinthians 13:5

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.
1 John 4:1

I can boldly say this: if many of us were honest enough to do this, many churches would close. Not out of rebellion, but out of revelation.

Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
Matthew 15:13

Because what the true Christ who was crucified established is not what we are currently promoting.

If anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
