The prophets have gone into their covens as usual – Bishop Ossai Ossai

Very few are speaking from the quietness of their comfort zones.

I can assure you that many are troubled.

I cried out after our leadership meeting where we accepted to support the candidature of Asiwaju but insisted we must have a vice president who is a Christian.

When the idea of a Muslim-Muslim ticket came out as a deft political strategy many of us spoke out and insisted that this was not going to augur well for the common good of our NATION.

Many notable voices in the church came out with very disgusting defence of Muslim-Muslim ticket.

This completely compromised all that NIGERIA has always stood for both by the statute books of this NATION and the practice in this land.

We are now confronted by leadership where majority that handle strategic leadership roles are even if not compromised in the minority.

We know that in our country most pander to the whims and caprices of the leaders for pecuniary reasons. Hence, the expression ‘stomach infrastructure’ gained ascendancy in this political dispensation.

Today, our president is inundated with myriad of problems.

He is battling a battered-economy and is doing a great job to stabilize the economy. He is battling a volatile security challenge. Infact mention any aspect of our NATION where the Presidency is at peace.

I sincerely sympathize with our President. In the face of all this, we have an election year in front of us.

Many do not realize hand over is 2027. That means election is actually 2026. So the heat is on from every side.

There are those who are determined that this presidency is a single tenure presidency. There are those pushing an ethnic agenda of a session’s magnitude, and there are those with an entitlement mindset. Others want power to be devoluted.

Some argue for a weak centre and a strong regional government.

The prophets have gone into their covens as usual. When the coast becomes clear they will come out with positions.

I personally do not trust many projecting a prophetic control of the terrain. Some of us do not operate like that. Our God wants peace for this country where the black race has most of its honour coming from.

Anything that destabilizes this NATION has a very unimaginable impact in the world peace and global balance of power.

The church has left leadership largely in the hands of relatively ill-equipped leadership whose interests seem different from issues of the moment.

We have no option than to become pro active immediately.

This is not a time for prayer meetings and self-serving religious crusades and mere activities only.

I sense an urgency!
Time is ticking away
There is a call for voice of reason here and nowhere.
