As Cherubim & Seraphim Church of Christ (“The Worshippers”) Mount of Joy & Glory celebrates 25 years anniversary, the minister-in-charge of the church, Supt. Apst Prophet Dr Solomon Olabi Ogabi (Jpil) shares with Christian Benefits magazine several outstanding testimonies and achievements of the church these past 25 years, and also how God dealt with him before he eventually yielded to the call.

We congratulate you on the 25th anniversary of Cherubim &Seraphim Church of Christ (“The Worshippers”) Mount of Joy & Glory. How do you feel as the church celebrate its silver jubilee?

I give all glory to God. I’m really happy and exciting seeing the church celebrate its silver jubilee. My heart is full of gratitude for God has done great things for us. He glories us and keeps us moving forward. Of course, we have actually had diverse experiences, challenges and difficulties but with several victories and testimonie these past 25 years. Today we are full of excitement for the progress of the church.

When you started the church 25 years ago, did you envisage the level of growth the church has attained today?

Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey sang a particular song that one who embarks on a journey doesn’t know how the journey will be. It is only God who can direct the path of anyone successfully. We are just confident in God leading us. He has a covenant with us that as we press forward he will keep increasing and expanding us. It is only him who can fulfill his promises to us. That is why we are rejoicing today that God has been fulfilling his promises to us all past these 25 years.

Have you any regret quitting your thriving business to start the ministry 25 years ago?

I have no regrets whatsoever though the beginning was very tough because I didn’t respond to the call immediately over concerns how to cater for my family quitting my thriving electrical/electronic business to work for God. As a result of this, God severely dealt with me before I eventually yielded to the call. He said I would suffer for three years because of my reluctance to yield to the call. And I practically suffered for three years until the Lord showed me mercy and delivered me. After the three years of hardship God assured that as much as I stay at my duty post serving him he would be meeting all my needs, desires and expectations at my duty post. This has been my testimony after the first three years of this ministry. I worked for UAC for 20 years and built a small house as my only benefit from the work.

Share with us some of the tough times in the ministry these past 25 years

We had experienced quite a number of tough moments these 25 years. But at every tough time the Holy Spirit showed us and we pressed forward. God always shows up for us that he is indeed with us as we overcome every tough time. The toughest moment was when I was alleged of kidnapping. I was taken to the police station over the allegation. It became a court case. God showed us and I was vindicated. Two other churches around us alleged of the same accusation are no more. To the glory of God, we survived the allegation and our church remains alive till now.

Tell us some other outstanding testimonies of the church these past 25 years

We have several other outstanding testimonies. When God called me he gave me water and oil with prayer as the only instruments of authority and power of this ministry. Over the years with water and prayer alone God wrought great miracles, signs and wonders in the lives of people with profound testimonies. Our own white garment church does not shed animals’ blood or prepare rituals to solve problems. We only use water or oil with prayer, and God proves himself mightily in the lives of people with awesome testimonies of miracles and wonders following. Over the years we have recorded testimonies of the dead rose, the lame walked; the blind saw, the deaf heard and the dumb spoke and countless testimonies of healing of diverse illness, sickness and diseases; numerous testimonies of babies to the barren; safe baby deliveries; salvation, restoration, promotion and breakthroughs. Also, God has released many captives from the bondage of Satan without rituals. When the church clocked 10 God promised us expansion unto greater heights, and not quite long he established a branch for us at Atan in Ogun State. This is another awesome testimony. The man of God the Lord himself appointed as my assistant, Most Senior Apostle Mathew Agannaoh Nugboyon Jpil, oversees the branch.
