Forty-two (42) successful students of Executive Diploma in Church Management (EDCM) of Christian Leadership Skills have been certified and approved by McPherson University to be part the varsity’s convocation ceremonies slated for Friday, February 28th, 2025 at the university campus at Seriki Shotade, off Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
The Executive Diploma in Church Management (EDCM) is a three-month online Ministerial Development and Training certified program of McPherson University in collaboration with Christian Leadership skills (CLS) Inc designed for General Overseers, Senior Pastors, Church leaders and Christian Business Executives.
Rev. Albert O. Aina, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Christian Leadership Skills (CLS) Inc, at a press briefing on the graduation of the CLS pioneer students of Executive Diploma in Church Management disclosed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Christian Leadership Skills (CLS) Inc.; the curriculum promoters led by him as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and McPherson University led by the Pioneering Vice Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Agunbiade in July 2022, and implemented by the current Vice Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, to run a course in Executive Diploma in Church Management (EDCM).
Rev. Aina explained that Christian Leadership Skills (CLS) Inc provides and facilitates the curriculum while McPherson University is responsible for the administration and certification of the successful students of the three months online course. He explained that the Executive Diploma in Church Management (EDCM) course “is intended for the savvy, forward-thinking Ministry leader who wants to make real different in the community and the world at large.” He further explains other purposes of the three months online course as follows:
“The Executive Diploma in Church Management will bring trajectory-changing perspective. The participants will see how the Business Management Principles and Leadership tools comport with Biblical guidance and how things can work with God’s blessing for his ends in any ministry.”
He added that the participants would be made to see how Business principles and Management tools will supercharge their ministries to reach their God-given potentials. He emphasised that the course is aimed to show the participants the pathways to operational excellence and maximum impact and they would see the connection between Church on Sunday and work on Monday.
The CLS boss assured that the Executive Diploma in Church Management would place at the disposal of the participants, “a tremendous array of powerful management tools-value-neutral tools that, when used properly, will take their ministries to where they have always dreamed it is to go.”

He further stated in his address to the newsmen that the course is a back-to-the-New Testament alternative for training Ministry leaders, recalling that “when Jesus sent out the twelve, He dispatched the crew with a far more sense about how things work than about Theology. Curiously, our Ministry training today is just the opposite. We don’t take Business leaders and teach them how to preach; rather we generally take the folks trained in Theology and teach them to lead,” he pointed out.
The experienced management consultant and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Leadership Skills (CLS) institute, while assuring that the pioneering Executive Diploma in Church Management course of the frontline skills acquisition institute; reputed as the first of its kind in Africa, would empower the participants to make a meaningful social contribution, as most of the Management principles are transferable to the Church setting, acknowledged that CLS realize that running a Ministry/Church is more difficult than running for-profit enterprises.
“The resources are tighter. It is often volunteer-driven, the measure of success is less obvious, and there are no well-established best practices for maximizing results. However, many church leaders can’t find the time and finances to attend secular Business Schools and learn the principles that would help them to steward with excellence. “It is our fervent prayers that the LORD of Harvest will use this Executive Diploma in Church Management to nurture and grow the ministries that God has entrusted to them,” Rev. Albert Aina prayed in conclusion.
