“The winner of the 2023 presidential election will come from the west. I see a slim person with a stature like Pastor Sam Adeyemi winning the election, but I can not say if Pastor Sam Adeyemi is that person. But definitely, the winner of the 2023 Nigeria’s presidential election is going to be a Christian from the west.”

Amid the controversy on which side the pendulum of Nigeria’s leadership should swing between the north and the south of the country ahead of the 2023 presidential election in the country, Pastor Phillip Osung has added his prophetic voice to the heating controversy. He declared that the north is in God’s agenda for Nigeria.

The Oron-born preacher from Akwa Ibom state and Senior Pastor of Born Free Int’l Ministry, Lagos, in an interview with Christian Benefits disclosed that God specifically spoke about the significance of the north in the books of Isaiah and Jeremiah. His words: “God gave His word in respect of the significance of the north in the books of Isaiah and Jeremiah. He clearly said that out of the north a great nation shall arise. This same north that is in God’s agenda is the same north the devil is sitting upon. God’s choice is always the devil’s target. Prophet Jeremiah was the first prophet to speak about the north,” the prophet stated.

Despite the violent hostilities in most part of the north that is a worrisome challenge affecting the entire nation today, Pastor Osung again declared that the deliverance of Nigeria would come from the same north. He said the only thing the Church can do in the face of the present violent hostilities in the north is to continue praying for the fulfillment of God’s prophecy about Mount Zion.

“The Church must take serious God’s prophecy that Mount Zion would be on the side of the north. The north is central in God’s agenda for the End-time revival. That is why the largest church in Nigeria, The Dunamis is in the north. That is the beginning of the fulfillment of God’s agenda about the north. More vibrant and large churches will still spring up in the north despite the present violent hostilities in the north. The Church must work hard on that prophecy about the north. The devil will do anything to stop the prophecy from being fulfilled. But with consistent prayers the prophecy will be fulfilled,” he said.

However, despite God’s agenda for the north to rule Nigeria, the prophetic Osung does not rule out other regions of Nigeria from ruling the nation. “The other regions of Nigeria will rule the nation, but the north will always be ahead of them in the leadership of the nation simply because the north is in God’s prophecy for the End-time revival. The events that will lead to the End-time revival will happen and are already happening in the north,” the prophet asserts.

But as regards the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, Pastor Philip Osung, who recently released a book titled, The Devil in Your Government, said he does not foresee any presidential candidate from the north winning the election.

The Senior Pastor of Born Free Int’l Ministry also said Nigeria would not break up now in spite of the agitations for self-determination from some regions in the country. He remarked that the agitations for self-determination would only weaken the country, but on the long run Nigeria would not break up now though she would disintegrate in the future. “Nigeria will break up, but not now. The agitations for self-determination from some regions of the Nigeria are   to weaken the nation. Nigeria’s major problem is her constitution. But a new Nigeria will emerge though the country will still break up in the future,” he said

Osung also said that for now Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Independent People of Biafra, (IPOB) would not achieve his agitation for an independent Igbo nation exit from Nigeria. He however said the steps that the Nigerian government is taking on the cases of Kanu and other agitators in the country are wrong. He advised the government to engage the agitators in peaceful dialogues. “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will not achieve his agitation now, but the steps that the government is taking on the cases of the agitators are wrong. The government is creating more problems for the country with the steps.

“The agitators are organizing peaceful rallies in venting their agitations, but the government is combating and harassing them with raw powers. The government may eventually end up paying heaven compensations to the agitators for their unjustly harassment. It will be difficult for the governments to handle the agitators except the government engages them in peaceful dialogues. A lot of government officials have polluted the government. Nigerian should expect the return of peace but the stability of peace in the polity is still far away” he said.

Pastor Osung, who was a renowned critic of the President Buhari government, explained to Christian Benefits his sudden change of stance against the Buhari government. “Most of us derailed by attacking the government for poor performance when we should be praying for the government. God is about to do new things in the country that it is only the structure of the present government that can get those things done. If anything ominous happens today to President Muhammadu Buhari, it is another northerner that will complete his tenure. So, we should exercise patience with President Buhari to complete his tenure in 2023 and then vote for a better candidate to take over from him. And as for my state, Akwa Ibom, none of the people coming out for the next governorship election in the state will win the election. The new incoming governor of Akwa Ibom state is going to be an unpopular and very young person. That person is presently sitting somewhere, and he does not know he is going to become the next governor of Akwa Ibom state,” Pastor Phillip Osung finally predicted.
