God is a multi-dimensional and multi-applicable entity. He revealed his nature and character in the Old Testament through his names. He changed names severally in the Testament to reveal himself to mankind. He intentionally did so and he said so. He told Moses regarding this action.

“And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”  Exodus 6:3.

So, the previous revelation regarding his name was to make himself known. So, the new name that God revealed to Moses was to achieve definite purpose.

The manner in which God changed names of some of the Patriarchs shows names are not ordinary to God. He uses name for specific functions and purposes. When names are changed, situations vary as well.

We will profit extremely in our walk with God if we understand the way he works. It is very clear he reveals himself through his various names in the Bible. Each of the names shows how we can profit in our relationship with him. Each name instructs us as to who God is and what he can do. We have seen God as a military man through his name.

“Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied,” 1Samuel 17:45.

That’s God that fights with anything at anytime and anywhere. We have also seen God as a Medical Doctor; a physician.

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Exodus 15:26.

All his names give us revelation regarding his nature, power, mindset, philosophy, tradition, culture and leaning. We can place a finger on what he can and would do through any of the revelations through his name.

I am confident you will have the best of revelation through this book as to who Jehovah Jireh is to humanity both in the past and in the present. His name has always been prophetic about his mindset and mentality. Definitely, this book will prophesy the Jireh dimension of God to our life.

JEHOVAH JIREH

Revelation of Divine Nature/Father figure of God/Family man in God/Benevolent nature of God. Names reveal who you are. God has changed his name severally to reveal his relationship with realities on ground. The name is about his function and nature per time. Sum together all the names of God as revealed in the bible and you will know the total nature of God. Names identify entities. Names define and describes. Jehovah Jireh shows God sees us, our needs and sees what we need for our needs. Jehovah Jireh is premised on God’s capacity to SEE no matter where, what, and when. It explains the theology of divine oversight function and capacity over the earth and dwellers there.

Jehovah Jireh is rooted in divine capacity of search and obtain. Abraham caught the powerful revelation on mount Moriah.

“And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.” Genesis 22:14.

There are two major revelations involved in the Abrahamic statement. The first is ‘seeing’ and the second is ‘provide’.

Jehovah Jireh is the dimension of God that can SEE. He saw the Ram before Abraham saw it. This is because the whole earth is under the watchful eyes of the Most High.

“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:” Isaiah 40:22.

He sits upon the circle of the earth so he can see all things and everyone. Look at the following scriptures.

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.” 2Chronocles 16:9.

“Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?” Job 24:1.

Even calendar times, days and weeks are not hidden before him. He can see the day that is best for exploits for us.

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3.

He can show us hidden things since he knows and sees them.

“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.”  Hebrews 4:13.

Absolutely nothing is hidden before him. “Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering.” Job 26:6. (Continues next edition) #Extracts from Dr. James Akanbi’s book titled Jehovah Jireh!
