I am Bada Emmanuel Oladipupo. I am a legal practitioner by profession and a prophet by calling. I am one of the children of His Eminence Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada, the late Senior Pastor and Supreme Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide (1930\u20132000). I am also politically inclined. Above all, I am a product of God’s grace and mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Briefly tell us about your background and upbringing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Like I said, I come from a deeply rooted Christian home. My late mother was a prophetess, while my late father, Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada, was the pioneer Shepherd of the Celestial Church of Christ, Makoko, Lagos, when the church was still a mud structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My father was entrusted by the Founder, Rev. Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, with the responsibility of evangelizing and expanding the Celestial Church of Christ following its establishment in Nigeria. It was during this period that I was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My mother served as one of my father’s prophetesses before they eventually got married. As you have noticed, I use crutches today. However, I was not born physically challenged. I was about three years old when I lost the use of my lower limbs during one of my father’s evangelistic missions while he was tirelessly spreading the gospel and establishing the church in rural communities. That unfortunate incident permanently affected my lower limbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Specifically, can you share with us how the incident happened?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The incident occurred during one of my father’s evangelistic missions across the Badagry area. In those days, he travelled by canoe through riverine communities and remote hamlets to preach the gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While he was away on one of those missions, I sustained severe ant bites, which eventually affected my lower limbs. By the time my father returned to Makoko, the wounds had become badly infected and the infection had spread through my body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was subsequently taken to Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital, where the resident doctor, Dr. Bailey, administered emergency treatment. Unfortunately, complications arising from the treatment further affected my lower limbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At one point, I was scheduled for surgery and remained on admission in the hospital for several years. This happened during the administration of General Yakubu Gowon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Initially, my mother was not informed because she was heavily pregnant at the time. By the time she eventually arrived at the hospital, I had already been taken into the operating theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At that moment, my spirit was already departing. In fact, I had virtually crossed over. Around the same time, a prophet informed my father that one of the children of the church was about to die and instructed him to go immediately to the Mercy Land at CCC Makoko to pray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While lying on the stretcher in the operating theatre, I suddenly saw an extraordinarily bright light. I began following the light and experienced indescribable joy without any pain. As I was about to cross over completely, I heard a loud voice say, “Go back!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Immediately, I returned to consciousness and gradually opened my eyes. Those around me began shouting, “He is back! He is back!” They had already concluded that I had died and were preparing to move my body to the mortuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was about three years old then. I was later told that about nine patients underwent surgery that day, and I was the only one who survived, to the glory of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, my father had gone to the Mercy Land at Makoko to pray exactly as he had been instructed. I believe those prayers preserved my life and rescued me from the jaws of death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How did you cope with your physical condition while pursuing quality education and eventually becoming a legal practitioner?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n After I was discharged from the hospital, I still could not walk properly. Since then, I have relied on crutches. According to the doctors, the infection had affected the connecting systems in my body, making physiotherapy necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nevertheless, I thank God because life continued. God has been my greatest source of encouragement throughout the years. At a point, my parents said to me, “Emma, you will soon be starting school. Prepare your mind for it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eventually, they enrolled me at Children’s Home School, Ibadan, where I met Mrs. Tanimowo Ogunlesi, one of Nigeria’s foremost educationists. After asking me a few questions, she was impressed by my responses and immediately offered me a scholarship. That became the first scholarship I received in my educational journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The scholarship supported my education from Children’s Home School and subsequent other scholarship through secondary school, up to Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), where I studied Law, and later to the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By the grace of God, I also received a State-sponsored foreign scholarship to pursue a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International and Comparative Disability Law and Policy at the prestigious National University of Ireland, Galway, in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although I was initially admitted into Kindergarten One at Children’s Home School because I had started school late, the school authorities soon realized that my intellectual capacity was far above that level. I was rapidly promoted to Kindergarten Two, Kindergarten Three, and subsequently to Standard One.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As my teachers continued to instruct us, they discovered that I grasped lessons much faster than my classmates. God blessed me with exceptional ability to learn and assimilate knowledge quickly. My educational progress became remarkably rapid, and I received several double promotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was as though God compensated me for all the years I had spent at home because of my health challenges. I completed my education at Children’s Home School with outstanding academic results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Apart from your initial treatment at Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital, did your parents make further efforts to help you regain the use of your limbs?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes, they did. After I completed my education at Children’s Home School, someone advised my father to take me to a traditional physiotherapy centre in Edo State, believing that massage therapy could help restore the use of my legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My father agreed, provided there was genuine assurance that I would eventually walk again. I was therefore moved to a traditional healing home where Icontinued my primary education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was initially admitted into Primary Four. However, after scoring full marks in my first test, I was immediately promoted to Primary Five. Before long, I was promoted again to Primary Six because of my academic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During this period, I joined the church choir and later became its secretary. My daily routine was simple\u2014home, school, church, and back home. From an early age, I developed a strong passion for serving God, and I believe God rewarded that commitment by making my academic journey smooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While undergoing physiotherapy, I continued to excel academically. I eventually proceeded to the science class at Agbowa-Ikosi Local Government Secondary School, where I represented my school in several Lagos State science competitions. By God’s grace, I successfully carried out experiments during some of those competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One day, my father unexpectedly visited the traditional physiotherapy home while returning from an evangelistic mission in Ijebu-Ode. He went straight to the therapist and found him preparing a traditional herbal concoction to massage my legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Immediately, my father concluded that the mixture involved fetish practices. He instantly stopped the therapist from having further access to me, insisting that if God wished to restore my legs, He would do so without any form of fetish practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From that day onward, my father withdrew me from the traditional treatment, placing his complete trust in God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What was it like growing up as one of the children of the late Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada, former Spiritual Leader of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Growing up as a child of Baba Bada was a great privilege. As a young boy, I had the rare opportunity of interacting closely with the pioneers of the Celestial Church of Christ. I met and related personally with Rev. Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, Rev. S. O. Ajanlekoko, my father Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada, Baba Salaka, Baba Robert Collier, Baba Sobowale, and several other notable leaders of the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Whenever they gathered behind the old CCC Makoko church building for meetings, my father would often call me to sit beside him. He would hand me the Holy Bible and ask me to read portions of Scripture to everyone present. That experience built my confidence at a very tender age and nurtured in me a deep love for the Word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Being in the company of these great men exposed me to wisdom beyond my years. Although I was too young to contribute to their discussions, I listened attentively and learned invaluable lessons from their conversations. They were men of profound wisdom, remarkable humility, and genuine love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They shared meals from the same pot, cared for one another sincerely, and often lightened serious discussions with meaningful jokes drawn from the Scriptures, leaving everyone in laughter. Those moments allowed me to witness genuine Christian fellowship, humility, and the power of God at work among His servants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That kind of love and bonding appears to be largely absent among members of the Celestial Church of Christ today. In your opinion, what is responsible for this?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Unfortunately, that level of love and unity is no longer common because many of us have become overly materialistic, placing greater emphasis on material benefits than on spirituality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, many people seek immediate personal gain from every position or responsibility in the church. The question often asked is, “What do I stand to gain?” rather than, “How can I serve God faithfully?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n There is also a growing lack of trust among members. Unlike the early church leaders, many leaders today find it difficult to humble themselves enough to relate freely with ordinary members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rev. Oshoffa, for instance, was exceptionally humble. Despite being the Founder and Supreme Head of the church, he freely associated with everyone, including children and the least privileged members. That humility endeared him to many of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a little boy, Baba Oshoffa loved me dearly. I was privileged to be part of his entourage on many occasions. In fact, I was one of the eyewitnesses to the events that preceded his fatal road accident. I personally witnessed everything that happened that Sunday morning before he departed from us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As an eyewitness, can you recount the events leading to the death of Rev. Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We lived on the second floor of the CCC Ketu mission house. That Sunday morning, I came downstairs, where Baba Oshoffa later joined me and other members of his entourage as we prepared to travel to Ibadan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Whenever Baba travelled, a separate Mercedes-Benz bus conveyed members of his entourage, while he rode in his official car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On that particular day, the bus had already been filled to capacity before I arrived. When Baba noticed me standing outside, he asked, “Emma, why are you not inside the bus?”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I replied, “There is no more space in the bus, Baba.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Immediately, he instructed everyone in the bus to disembark. After they had all come down, he turned to me and said, “Emma, now enter the bus first.”<\/em> He then personally selected those who would board the bus after me before allowing the remaining members of the entourage to re-enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That singular act demonstrated the depth of Baba Oshoffa’s love and affection for me. He also nurtured my musical talent and took a personal interest in my growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From Makoko, we first proceeded to CCC Egbe Parish 1, where Baba briefly prayed with the congregation during their harvest celebration. From there, we travelled to Baba Coker’s parish around Mile 2, Lagos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After leaving Mile 2, Baba decided to make a brief stop at CCC Ikorodu Parish 1. He instructed those of us in his entourage to continue our journey to Ibadan, assuring us that he would join us later that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That was the last time we saw him alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking back today, I sometimes wonder whether the tragic accident could have been avoided if Baba had continued the journey with us. Whenever we travelled together, he always ensured that the vehicle conveying his entourage followed closely behind his own vehicle. That arrangement helped regulate the speed of both vehicles and ensured greater safety during our journeys.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Rev. Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa was an exceptionally loving, humble, and charismatic leader. His sudden passing was a painful loss not only to the Celestial Church of Christ but also to Christendom at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the close relationship among Rev. Oshoffa, Rev. Ajanlekoko, and Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada, there were reports of a succession dispute between Rev. Ajanlekoko and Rev. Bada over who should succeed the Founder after his passing. What is your perspective on that?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To the best of my knowledge, there was never any personal rivalry or succession battle between Baba Ajanlekoko and my father, Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada. Much of what was circulated about a rift between them was the handiwork of fifth columnists who sought to create unnecessary division within the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In fact, Baba Ajanlekoko was fully aware of Baba Bada’s unique relationship with Baba Oshoffa and his prominent role in the leadership of the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although Baba Ajanlekoko joined the Celestial Church of Christ before my father, Baba Oshoffa openly identified Baba Bada as the person divinely revealed to work closely with him in building the church. The Founder publicly declared, “This is the man who will work with me. This is the person God revealed to me as my co-labourer in this mission.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Beyond that public declaration, Baba Bada’s responsibilities and commitment within the church clearly demonstrated his position as the leader next to Baba Oshoffa long before the Founder passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While Baba Bada was already serving the church full-time, even during the days when the church worshipped in a mud-and-thatch structure, Baba Ajanlekoko was still employed by Nigerian Breweries Plc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although Baba Ajanlekoko was older in age, my father was entrusted with enormous spiritual and administrative responsibilities within the church. Consequently, I do not believe there was any genuine succession crisis between the two men. They both served God faithfully, and the rumours of a personal conflict were greatly exaggerated <\/p>\n\n\n\n Can you also recall the final moments of your father, Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada, before he passed on?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I was at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, when my father, Rev. Alexander Abiodun Bada, passed away in the United Kingdom. Before the news reached me, I had felt an unusual prompting from the Holy Spirit to travel home. At the time, however, I had no idea that Baba had already passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some senior church elders, led by Baba Akanji, came to see me. Rather than break the news immediately, Baba Akanji first engaged me in conversation. He asked what I would like to eat, how old I was, and what my future plans were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I told him my age, informed him that I was at the Nigerian Law School, and shared my desire to practise law after graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After our conversation, he encouraged me to rest. Later that evening, at about 5:00 p.m., he returned and gently said to me, “Emma, there is nothing we can do about it. Baba, your father, has passed on.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n I was stunned. I exclaimed, “How could that be? Baba is in the United Kingdom.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n He calmly replied, “Yes, Baba has passed away in the UK.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n For a moment, I was completely devastated. Then the Holy Spirit ministered to my heart, assuring me that my father had finished his assignment on earth victoriously. I found comfort in the words: He came, he saw, and he conquered. Wherever he is now, he is victorious. Blessed be the name of the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My mother had already been informed before I received the news. She had been heavily sedated because of the emotional shock. By the time I arrived in Lagos, our home was filled with sympathisers. Ironically, instead of being consoled, I found myself comforting my mother, my siblings, and many of those who had come to mourn with us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite his enormous responsibilities as the immediate successor to the Founder of the Celestial Church of Christ, Rev. Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, how did Rev. Bada successfully raise well-educated children and well-nurtured family.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n By the grace of God, Baba raised, nurtured, and educated all of us. Whenever we informed him about our educational needs, especially during the period he was overseeing the construction of the CCC International Headquarters along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, he would calmly ask us to exercise patience while he made arrangements to meet those needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We understood the enormous demands of his ministry and never doubted his commitment to our welfare. Despite his heavy responsibilities, he never allowed our education to suffer. God also blessed all his children with the spirit of excellence, and we were determined not to disappoint him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One remarkable example of Baba’s integrity was the acquisition of the land at Imeko, where the church’s international headquarters is located. The land had reportedly been purchased during Baba Oshoffa’s lifetime. However, after the Founder passed away, the landowners resurfaced, claiming they had not been fully paid. Baba Bada intervened, resolved the dispute peacefully, and ensured that the church paid for the land again in order to avoid prolonged litigation and preserve the church’s testimony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Personally, I also had a passion for music. I played several musical instruments, sang, and performed traditional Yoruba chants (Ewi). I recorded my first music album at Decca Studios, and Baba personally sponsored the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Interestingly, during the launch of the album at CCC Tejuosho Cathedral, Baba took the microphone and publicly commended me. Then he added something I have never forgotten. He said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Emmanuel, thank you. You have done very well with this album. But one thing remains: dust your certificates and continue your education. I see you among highly placed people around the world. I see you sitting among decision-makers and people in authority.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n At that moment, he was not speaking to me as a musician. He was speaking prophetically about my future. Those words profoundly influenced my life and motivated me to return to school to pursue higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your father’s counsel sounds very much like a prophecy. To what extent has it been fulfilled in your life today?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To the glory of God, that prophecy has indeed been fulfilled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I eventually became a legal practitioner and today I serve as a Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By God’s grace, I was also appointed as a pioneer member of the Governing Board of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), where I represented the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. During my tenure, I contributed to the development and implementation of disability policies and laws in Lagos State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I served two consecutive terms on the Board\u2014first during the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola and later under Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking back today, I can clearly see the fulfilment of my father’s prophetic words. Despite my physical disability, God has opened doors for me to serve in positions where I can influence policies, contribute to governance, and make a meaningful impact on society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What are some of the enduring legacies your father left behind, and how are you and your siblings building upon them?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n First, Baba Bada played a pivotal role in the codification of the hymns and sacred songs of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC). He knew the hymnbook virtually by heart\u2014from the first hymn to the last\u2014including the lyrics, melodies, and rhythms. He was exceptionally gifted in music and, as a prophet, composed many of the hymns and spiritual songs that are still sung in the church today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many of us, his children, are committed to preserving and building upon that rich musical heritage. We also continue to serve faithfully in various capacities within the Celestial Church of Christ, carrying forward the legacy he left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beyond music, Baba Bada made invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the church. He was instrumental in the codification of the doctrines, rules, and tenets of the Celestial Church of Christ. He also played a major role in the establishment of the CCC Central Choir and the Celestial School of Theology (CST), institutions that have continued to strengthen the church’s worship and ministerial training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, he encouraged and empowered Shepherds across the church to organise revival programmes and evangelistic outreaches, thereby expanding the spread of the Gospel through the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today, all of Baba Bada’s children remain committed members of the Celestial Church of Christ. None of us has departed from the church he served so faithfully. We remain united in our resolve to preserve his legacy and continue the work to which he devoted his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although Baba has transitioned to glory, the values he instilled in us\u2014faith, humility, discipline, service, and commitment to God\u2014continue to guide our daily lives. His teachings, counsel, and exemplary lifestyle remain a constant source of inspiration to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our desire is not merely to remember him for his remarkable achievements but to ensure that future generations appreciate the sacrifices he made for the growth of the Celestial Church of Christ and for the advancement of God’s kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As his children, we consider it both a privilege and a sacred responsibility to uphold those ideals and build faithfully upon the solid foundation he laid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What are some of the enduring legacies your father left behind, and how are you and your siblings building upon them?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n First, Baba Bada was instrumental in the codification of all the hymnals and songs of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC). He knew those hymns by heart from beginning to end, including the rhymes, lyrics, and melodies. Baba Bada was exceptionally gifted musically. As a prophet, he composed many of the hymns and songs used in the Celestial Church of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most of us, his children, are sustaining and building upon his musical legacy while also continuing to serve faithfully in the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), even long after his transition to glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Baba Bada also played a key role in codifying the rules and tenets of the CCC. He was instrumental in the establishment of both the CCC Central Choir and the Celestial School of Theology (CST). In addition, he encouraged and empowered CCC Shepherds to organize revival programmes, thereby facilitating the expansion of the Gospel through the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We, his children, are still carrying forward his mandate to sustain and build upon his legacy. None of us has departed from the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide. Although Baba has gone to be with the Lord, his teachings, values, and example continue to guide and counsel us, especially whenever we encounter challenges along life’s journey.<\/p>\n\n\n What is your current status or position in the Celestial Church of Christ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I am a Prophet in the Celestial Church of Christ. However, I do not currently oversee or lead a parish, largely because of the demands of my legal practice. I remain active in the church choir, where I sing and play the keyboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Baba Bro. Bro. was a very close senior brother to me within the CCC choir circle. We grew up together at Makoko. He was one of my father’s prot\u00e9g\u00e9s in Celestial hymns and songs. Baba Bada greatly encouraged the growth of music in the Celestial Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Interestingly, Baba’s own father, Omotona Bada, was an organist in the African Church. He also served as President of the Customary Court covering the Agege and Alimosho areas in those days. My father inherited his musical gift and organ-playing skills from him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Baba trained and mentored many people in the Celestial Church in music, including Baba Bro. Bro. When Baba Bro. Bro. first came to CCC Makoko, he was a bricklayer who stammered. Yet, through God’s grace and the anointing upon his life, whenever he sang, no one could tell that he had a speech impediment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the Renewal Congress of Aladura & Celestial Churches in Politics (RECAP), what is RECAP all about? Please share its vision, mission, and objectives.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Renewal Congress of Aladura & Celestial Churches in Politics (RECAP) is a divine mandate. RECAP was not established merely as an association; it is a faith-based civic and political advocacy movement. It was born out of the conviction that the Church must become a positive force in nation-building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For too long, many believers have withdrawn from the process of governance while praying for better leadership. However, prayer must be accompanied by responsible civic engagement, leadership development, and active participation in the democratic process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our slogan, “From the Altar to the Nation,” captures this divine assignment. It reminds us that our worship, righteousness, integrity, and commitment to God should shape our engagement with society. The altar prepares us for the nation, making the nation our mission field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n RECAP does not seek political privileges. Rather, we are servants committed to promoting justice, peace, equity, good governance, and national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our vision is to unite members of the White Garment Churches under a common platform for civic enlightenment, political education, responsible political participation, leadership development, and national transformation. We seek to raise men and women whose integrity cannot be bought, whose convictions cannot be compromised, and whose ultimate loyalty is first to God and then to the service of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n RECAP is determined to demonstrate that faith and responsible citizenship can work together to produce a better Nigeria by applying biblical principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We envision every arm of government functioning effectively. We see every young person becoming a transformational leader. We see women occupying strategic leadership positions. We see the White Garment Churches speaking with one united voice on issues of national importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We have the numerical strength, the intellectual capacity, and the spiritual influence to shape governance righteously so that hope can replace despair. With God on our side, this vision shall become a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some people ask, “What is the Church doing in politics?” They often quote the biblical principle of light having no fellowship with darkness. To some extent, they are correct. The Church, as a religious institution, should not be partisan because it has a unique divine role to proclaim the Gospel, counsel leaders, and pray for those in authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, individual members of the Church are also citizens. Without the members, there can be no Church. Every Christian enjoys the constitutional rights guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the freedom of association and participation in governance. Likewise, the Constitution of the Celestial Church of Christ recognizes the civic rights of its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Therefore, RECAP encourages value-driven political participation so that believers can positively influence government, governance, and public policies in line with biblical principles of justice, truth, righteousness, love, hope, and compassion for the masses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many Christians, including members of White Garment Churches, still view politics as a dirty game and avoid participating. How is RECAP addressing this political apathy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n RECAP is committed to addressing political apathy among believers. Political apathy is largely a mindset, and the reasons are obvious. Many politicians tend to prioritize their personal interests above those of the people they were elected to serve. Once they attain power, their attitudes and priorities often change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I believe this challenge is fundamentally spiritual because the spiritual controls the physical. Having identified the root of the problem, RECAP, by the grace of God, as a faith-based advocacy group, is determined to confront political apathy through sustained prayer, civic enlightenment, and educational programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the practical steps we are taking is the RECAP Prayer Summit scheduled for July 30, 2026, in Lagos.
