In this interview with Christian Benefits Magazine, he speaks on leadership, revival, church growth, and the need for greater spiritual accountability. Excepts of the interview below

How would you like to be introduced to our audience?
Pastor Bayo Funso Adaramola, Pastor and General Overseer of Jesus Is Light Ministries (Worldwide), popularly known as Light Chapel.

How would you describe your experience since becoming the General Overseer of Jesus Is Light Ministries (Light Chapel) over two years ago?
It has been eye-opening and challenging, but I thank God for His grace, which has always been sufficient for the task He has entrusted to us.

What major achievements has the church recorded under your leadership?
God has been very faithful. In the last two years since I assumed the mantle of leadership, the ministry has recorded definite progress on several fronts. There has been a new wave of spiritual awakening among members, leading to greater zeal and commitment. On the practical side, we took our Compassion Crusade to all our branches nationwide in 2024, established the Apostle Gbemiga Ola-Ojo ICT Centre for the training of our youth, commenced the publication of our daily devotional, and accomplished many other milestones, all to the glory of God.

How do you balance your legal practice with church leadership?
By God’s grace and through diligent organization.

How many church branches did you inherit, and what is your vision for expansion?
We presently have eight branches nationwide, excluding the headquarters, and our vision is to plant the church wherever the Lord leads us in due course.

What is the theme of the 2026 Biennial Conference, and what inspired it?
The theme is “Light of the World,” drawn from Matthew 5:14–16 and John 8:12.

What is the significance of the Biennial Conference to the church?
The conference is a platform for spiritual gathering for all our members from every branch, including the headquarters. It provides an opportunity for meaningful corporate fellowship that ushers us into a time of refreshing before the Lord. It is also a season of spiritual revival.

What should participants expect spiritually and practically during the conference?
Participants should expect edifying and expository teachings, revival that uplifts, genuine spiritual encounters with Jesus, and, most importantly, diverse signs, wonders, and miracles. Everyone who attends will experience God in a new and deeper way.

What lasting impact do you expect this conference to have on attendees?
I expect attendees to experience a rejuvenated Christian life and gain a deeper knowledge of the nature and character of God. Overall, they will become better believers in every aspect of their lives.

How would you assess the state of the Nigerian Church today?
God is moving in mysterious ways to glorify Himself among the saints. In my opinion, the Church is, by and large, healthy, despite some concerns about the message being conveyed by certain church leaders.

What reforms do you believe the Nigerian Church urgently needs today?
The Church urgently needs greater spiritual accountability and less disproportionate emphasis on material acquisition at the expense of spiritual growth and Christlike living.

What message do you have for Nigerians on the economy, insecurity, and the 2027 general elections?
I am a Nigerian, and Nigeria is a richly endowed nation that is unfortunately plagued by greed at every level. The economy is influenced by several factors, so a blanket assessment would be unfair. Although many people at the lower end of the economic ladder have borne the brunt of the ongoing reforms and repositioning, the macroeconomic indicators have consistently shown improvement. Personally, I believe the economy is moving in the right direction, and I hope that, in due course, the dividends of our collective sacrifices will reach all citizens. Regarding insecurity, it is unfortunate that our leaders have yet to reach a national consensus on how to permanently free the nation from its grip. That is why insecurity has remained a persistent reality in Nigeria. The Church must continue to stand in the gap for the nation and for the gallant men and women laying down their lives to secure our country. With persistence, faith, and the support of the citizens, Nigeria shall prevail. As for the 2027 general elections, my prayer is that the best candidates, in line with God’s purpose for our nation, will emerge victorious.

As Jesus Is Light Ministries (Worldwide), popularly known as Light Chapel, prepares for its 2026 Biennial Conference, its General Overseer, Pastor Bayo Funso Adaramola, reflects on over two years of his leadership of the church, the ministry’s progress, the significance of the forthcoming conference, and his perspectives on the state of the Nigerian Church and […]

[23

post-4942","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-conference
["GET
