In this interview with Christian Benefits Magazine, he shares his rebirth experience, healing, and the events that culminated in the establishment of his ministry.

Can We Meet You, Sir?

I am Prophet Victor Oziegbe, the General Overseer of World of Prayer Bible International Church, which was founded in 2001. I am from Uromi in Edo State, Nigeria. My father had three wives, and I am the only child of my mother.

I was born and raised in Church of God Mission, where I grew up to become an Assistant Pastor at the Uromi branch of the church. During the church’s National Convention in Benin in 1994, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa awarded me a scholarship. However, before I could proceed with the scholarship, my father passed away that same year, and I had to forgo the opportunity.

How Did You Grow from an Assistant Pastor to Becoming a General Overseer?

I came to Lagos on August 7, 1995, at the invitation of my sister to live with her. On August 10, I cooked beans and ate a portion. Shortly afterward, I became seriously ill. I was taken to different churches for healing, but there was no improvement.

Eventually, another sister of mine took me to the company where she worked, and the company arranged for my treatment at a hospital in Anifowose, Ikeja, Lagos. I remained on admission until September 12, 1995.

While I was lying on my sickbed one day, a man dressed in white apparel appeared and called my name three times. He said to me, “This sickness will not kill you. It is preparing you for a great assignment to deliver My people.”

He then moved toward me, and the bed shifted. He said, “The shifting of this bed means that I will make a way where there seems to be no way.” He laid his hands on me, prayed for me, placed fire in my hand, and then left.

When my sister entered the ward shortly afterward, I asked whether she had seen a man walk out. She replied that she had not. I narrated my experience to her, and she explained that it was Jesus who had visited me.

That encounter marked the beginning of my healing. After my recovery, I returned home and continued worshipping at Church of God Mission for many years. Later, after graduating from Faith Bible College, Ota, Ogun State, God led me to establish this ministry in 2001.

From that divine encounter in the hospital, God gave me a mandate to deliver people from various forms of bondage and affliction.

What Are the Gifts God Has Endowed You With for This Mandate?

The Lord has endowed me with the ministerial gifts of a prophet, teacher, pastor, evangelist, and apostle. However, my primary calling is in the area of deliverance ministry.

I’ve edited the text for clarity, grammar, flow, and readability while preserving the speaker’s intended meaning and tone.

What are some of the church programmes tailored towards the deliverance of people?

We hold a Deliverance Hour every Wednesday. People attend the programme with different kinds of challenges, and the Lord delivers them. Individuals from all walks of life come to receive blessings from God. We also hold Night of Wonders every first Friday of the month. In addition, every Sunday we conduct our Great Grace Service, where worshippers gather to experience God’s grace and power.

Please share with us some of the testimonies that your ministry has recorded.

The testimonies are too numerous to count. I have travelled to many countries around the world, and wherever I minister, God performs miracles.

Recently, someone asked me, “Can a woman who has no womb carry a baby?” I told him about a woman in our church named Esther, who is currently pregnant despite having had her womb removed six years ago. She came to the church for prayers, and after undergoing a deliverance session, her womb was restored. Today, she is pregnant.

God has also raised more than 13 people from the dead through this ministry. Many individuals who once struggled financially have become wealthy and prosperous through God’s intervention.

During one of my visits to Spain, I met a pastor’s wife who had no child. During a ministration, I called her out, prayed and prophesied over her. That same month, she became pregnant. Today, she has a baby whom she named Anointing.

Indeed, God has been faithful to us, and we continue to witness remarkable testimonies in this church.

How would you describe the journey of the church since its establishment in 2001?

The journey has been glorious, although it has come with many challenges. Before settling on our present location, we purchased church land from three different churches. In fact, my first appearance at a police station was over issues relating to church land.

Over the years, we have faced numerous attacks and criticisms. However, to the glory of God, we are still standing and growing, while many of our critics are now witnessing the progress of the ministry. Interestingly, some of those critics have repented and become members of the church.

What has been your source of encouragement in the face of these challenges?

My greatest source of encouragement has always been Jesus Christ. The truth is that anyone called by God will face challenges because the battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces.

Satan operates in this world and seeks to discourage God’s servants through various temptations and trials. However, whenever challenges arise, we must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. The Bible says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

If you allow the devil to overwhelm you, he will seek to gain control over your life. Therefore, you must resist him and stand firm in faith. Often, when a breakthrough is near, the challenges become even greater. But if you remain steadfast and hold on to God, victory will surely come.

Through prayer, patience, and unwavering trust in the Lord, every challenge can be overcome. I have faced many temptations and trials in life, and I have come to realize that there is no problem or temptation that God cannot solve.

Editor’s note: This interview was first published in Christian Benefits magazine in 2015

Prophet Victor Oziegbe, General Overseer of World of Prayer Bible International Church, recounts how a life-threatening illness in 1995 became a turning point that led to his divine calling and eventual emergence as a church leader.
