Opening Narration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the unfolding story of the Lagos Central Baptist Conference<\/strong>, one name stands as a beacon of faith, vision, and leadership \u2014 Reverend Dr. Victor Bamidele Akerele<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For over two decades and four months<\/strong>, he faithfully served in the pastorate of the First Baptist Church, Festac Town<\/strong>, Lagos, shepherding God\u2019s people with love, wisdom, and compassion. Then, on December 1, 2020<\/strong>, a new chapter began as he assumed the mantle of Executive Conference President <\/strong>of the Lagos Central Baptist Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A transformational, visionary, and servant-leader<\/strong>, Dr. Akerele is known for his humility, diligence, and relational warmth. His leadership reflects both strength and grace \u2014 a rare combination that inspires confidence and loyalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beside him stands his wife, Esther Modupe, a calm and compassionate medical professional who uses her gift of healing to touch lives within and beyond the Conference community. Their home radiates the fragrance of godliness \u2014 their children, Tobi, Tomi and Tolu, respectful and gracious, are living testimonies of Christian parenting and disciplined upbringing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before his appointment as Conference President, Dr. Akerele had already served diligently as a member of the Executive Council for ten years <\/strong>under the preceding administration. Those years of experience and exposure equipped him with the insight and wisdom to hit the ground running <\/strong>when he assumed office.Under his leadership, the Lagos Central Baptist Conference entered a new era of renewal, growth, and unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Infrastructure Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From structures to systems, transformation became visible and tangible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference House in Festac Town <\/strong>was remodeled, giving it a dignified and welcoming outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference Secretariat <\/strong>was transformed into a modern administrative hub<\/strong>, befitting the growing scope of the Conference\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Conference Resort Centre, OPIC Estate, Agbara<\/strong>, an existing 3-bedroom flat was remodeled into a 4-bedroom en suite apartment<\/strong>, with two additional toilets and a meeting hall <\/strong>that accommodates about twenty people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new block of eight apartments <\/strong>is under construction \u2014 featuring six en suite rooms <\/strong>with private sit-outs, and two executive lounges <\/strong>designed for convenience and hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference also purchased two plots of land <\/strong>at the Baptist International Convention Centre (BICC) <\/strong>and acquired an additional plot <\/strong>at OPIC Estate, Agbara<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In partnership with other Lagos Conferences, a joint project <\/strong>\u2014 the construction of a 3-bedroom flat for the Baptist College of Theology <\/strong>\u2014 is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These infrastructural strides stand as monuments of vision, excellence, and prudent leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission Advancement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Missions have always been at the heart of Dr. Akerele\u2019s ministry. His first term witnessed unprecedented commitment to evangelism, church support, and pastor empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reintroduced Pre-KPA activities such as Evangelism\/Crusade, Medical Outreach, and Pulpit Exchange. These have been very effective in the last five years, rekindling evangelistic fervour across the Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partnered with Churches and Associations to revitalize and plant more churches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaborative effort has resulted in an increase in the number of churches in the Conference from 160 in 2020 to 187 as of September 2025.Through strategic financial stewardship, 95% of outstanding loans from the Kingdom Project Financial Advisory Services (KIPFAS) were recovered, enabling the Conference to extend loans to 21 churches for mission expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission grants were given to 27 churches, sustaining evangelistic efforts in diverse communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational support was provided for theological students \u2014 an investment in the next generation of church leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Empowering young people academically, 240 candidates received JAMB forms from the Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Empowered people through the Social Evangelistic Action Team (SEAT) <\/em>by providing practical skill training in detergent production, hair and body cream making, Adire <\/em>and Kampala <\/em>fabric design, custard production, and other income-generating crafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference entered into a partnership with the Global Mission Board on the Benin Republic Mission Field, expanding the reach of the Gospel beyond national borders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another partnership with the Northwest Conference brought relief and encouragement to pastors affected by insurgency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference is proposing a partnership with Praise Baptist Church, Sango Otta, to support the rehabilitation of individuals involved in substance abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each of these efforts reflects a Conference deeply committed to the Great Commission and to the welfare of its ministers and members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seminars, Conferences, and Training<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Believing that the strength of any organization\/Church\/Conference lies in its people, Dr. Akerele prioritized leadership development and spiritual renewal<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Annual Workers\u2019 Seminar <\/strong>was expanded into two zones<\/strong>, increasing participation and enhancing its impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new Church Growth Seminar <\/strong>was introduced, emphasizing research and training <\/strong>on contemporary issues facing the modern Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harmonized Conference programmes<\/strong>, ensuring synergy, order, and alignment across all departments for greater effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sponsored leaders <\/strong>to attend various leadership and management training programmes<\/strong>, enhancing administrative competence and vision-driven leadership across the Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supported pastors approaching retirement <\/strong>by sponsoring specialized training on post-retirement flourishing<\/strong>, helping them remain purposeful and impactful in their later years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provided subventions <\/strong>for the Annual Pastors and Pastors\u2019 Wives Retreat<\/strong>, promoting spiritual renewal, family enrichment, and ministerial refreshment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kingdom Transformers Conference (KTC) <\/strong>\u2014 a flagship youth gathering \u2014 was revitalized<\/strong>, both spiritually and structurally. Participation soared from 800 to over 2,600 young people<\/strong>, marking a major leap in youth engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Annual Kingdom People Assembly <\/strong>was re-engineered<\/strong>, creating space for more youth inclusion and intergenerational fellowship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through these initiatives, the Conference under Dr. Akerele\u2019s leadership continues to raise disciples, equip leaders, and renew passion for Kingdom service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership Philosophy and Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
