PASTOR ADEBAYO FUNSO ADARAMOLA: DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
Pastor (Barr.) Adebayo Funso Adaramola, Esq., LL.B., B.L., FICMC, CMC, Notary Public and Justice of the Peace, is a legal practitioner and Christian minister whose life reflects a commitment to professional excellence, spiritual leadership and the advancement of God’s work.
Born on September 6, 1960, Pastor Adaramola hails from Obbo-Aiyegunle, Kwara State. He studied Law at the University of Maiduguri, graduating in 1985, and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, where he obtained his qualifying certificate in 1986. Following his call to the Nigerian Bar, he established Summit Law Firm, also known as Bayo Funso Adaramola & Co., in 1990 and has continued to practise law.
His Christian ministry is closely associated with Jesus Is Light Ministries, popularly known as Light Chapel International, founded in Kano in 1973 by the late Apostle Joshua Babalola Oluwagbemiga Ola-Ojo. Having served the ministry in various capacities, including General Secretary, Resident Pastor of the Kano Assembly and Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Adaramola was appointed General Overseer in April 2024, succeeding the retiring Pastor Mrs. Morenike Emily Ola-Ojo.
Since assuming leadership, he has demonstrated a commitment to sustaining the founding vision and legacy of the ministry while pursuing its continued spiritual and organisational development. Under his leadership, the church has undertaken compassion outreaches across its branches, strengthened youth development through the establishment of the Apostle Gbemiga Ola-Ojo ICT Centre, and commenced the publication of a daily devotional to encourage spiritual growth among believers.
His leadership philosophy emphasises sound biblical teaching, spiritual accountability, discipleship and the responsibility of Christians to serve as the light of the world. He continues to combine his legal profession with pastoral responsibilities, demonstrating the place of faith, discipline and purposeful leadership in both professional and spiritual life.
Beyond his ministerial and legal engagements, Pastor Adaramola is married to Deaconess (Barr.) Jummai Adaramola, and their marriage is blessed with four children.
In recognition of his visionary leadership, commitment to sustaining the founding vision of Light Chapel International and dedication to advancing God’s work, Pastor Adebayo Funso Adaramola is honoured with the 2026 Benefits Awards for Missionary Excellence (BAME) Award for Distinguished Visionary Leadership, presented by Christian Benefits Magazine on the occasion of its 26th Anniversary Celebration on October 30, 2026.
The award celebrates his commitment to preserving a rich Christian legacy while providing leadership for the continued growth and development of the ministry.
