What has your nurturing of followers produced? Whether you are an applicant looking to be engaged or employed in an organisation, the evidence of your track record in prior organisations is a key element in your evaluation as being fit for employment. Track record is even more crucial in managing other people’s money for profitability and vindicates their trust when returning their funds entrusted to you.

The servants in the parable of the minas and talents who profitably made returns to their master will be attested to as having a good track record, and the one who gained nothing established a bad track record.

This notion is what Paul espoused in 2 Corinthians 3:1-5 declaring that the lives of the Corinthians were the track record of his service. This is a measuring yardstick for self-assessment of any minister appointed by God (Ephesians 4:7-16).

How has the doctrine you preach, and your lifestyle moved your hearers closer to being conformed to the image of Christ? Oh, certainly not how wealthy they have become or how well they are hailed by the world. Paul wrote:

Are we beginning to be like those false teachers of yours who must tell you all about themselves and bring long letters of recommendation with them? I think you hardly need someone’s letter to tell you about us, do you? And we don’t need a recommendation from you, either! The only letter I need is you yourselves! By looking at the good change in your hearts, everyone can see that we have done a good work among you. They can see that you are a letter from Christ, written by us. It is not a letter written with pen and ink, but by the Spirit of the living God; not one carved on stone, but in human hearts. We dare to say these good things about ourselves only because of our great trust in God through Christ, that he will help us to be true to what we say, and not because we think we can do anything of lasting value by ourselves. Has your life so ministered the nature and Spirit of Christ that He can be visibly seen in changed lives? Our only success and power to achieve this comes from God, but this is a self-assessment that every called servant of God constantly do that he or she be not ashamed before the judgment seat of Christ. The hour is at hand, check yourself, O leader of God’s people. The Lord Jesus declared affirmatively in John 17:6-8.

Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
