As the Beloved Apostolic Fire Ministry, also known as the House of Liberty, marks its 25th anniversary with its 2026 Annual Convention and Thanksgiving, the General Overseer, Pastor Moses Bamidele Aromasodu, has declared that “old-time religion” is still possible despite the emergence of what he described as “Internet Christianity” in contemporary times.
Pastor Aromasodu nade the declaration in an interview with Christian Benefits Magazine ahead of the church’s annual convention and thanksgiving scheduled to hold from Monday, September 21 to Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Alagbado, Lagos.
The week-long programme, themed “The Set Time to Favour Zion”, with the biblical reference Psalm 102:13, is expected to feature revival meetings, a film show, praise and worship, and a thanksgiving service.
According to the programme released by the church, activities will commence on Monday with a film show scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This will be followed by revival meetings from Tuesday to Thursday within the same time frame.
A major highlight of the convention will be the “Praise Unshackled” programme on Friday night, scheduled to commence at 10:00 p.m. and continue until dawn.
The convention will climax on Sunday, September 27, with a thanksgiving service at 11:00 a.m.
The programme will be hosted by the church’s leadership, Pastor Moses and Pastor Mrs. Mary Aromasodu, while a number of ministers and gospel personalities are billed to minister during the convention.
Those listed as guest speakers include Pastor M.O. Gbenro and Prophet F.K. Ojelabi while Prophet Daniel Ajayi is billed as the revivalist. Gospel music ministers Ayodeji Souls and Omo Alade will also feature in the programme.
Other ministers listed to participate include Pastor M.O. Arodele, Prophetess M.O. Adeokun, as well as Beloved Voices and other ministers of God.
Speaking on the significance of the annual convention, Aromasodu said it provides an opportunity for the church to appreciate God for His faithfulness throughout the year.
“The significance of our annual convention is to appreciate God that, for a whole year, He has never disappointed us in all spheres. God has kept us going even with the situation in Nigeria. He is very faithful indeed,” the General Overseer stated.
Reflecting on the past year, Aromasodu also shared what he described as a significant testimony, saying, “God brought a dead man back to life.”
The cleric said participants at this year’s convention should expect spiritual and personal renewal despite the prevailing economic challenges in the country.
“People should expect the renewal of mind, as our theme says, ‘The Time to Favour Zion Is Now.’ The Nigerian economy is not smiling, but God can still transform lives,” he said.
The Beloved Apostolic Fire Ministry is marking 25 years of existence. Describing the journey of leading the church over the years, Aromasodu said it had been challenging but sustained by the presence and grace of God.
“The Church is 25 years old now. The journey has been so, so rough, and there are many stories to tell,” he stated.
According to the General Overseer, despite the challenges encountered over the years, the presence of God has remained constant.
“The presence of God has never for once been deflected,” he said, stressing that the church remains committed to the practice of what he described as “old-time religion” despite changing trends in contemporary Christianity.
“The old-time religion is still very much possible to practise amidst the ‘Internet Christianity’ being practised today.
“I bless God; His grace has been sufficient for us,” Aromasodu added.
He also highlighted some of the church’s major programmes through which he said God has impacted lives over the years.
These include the Midweek Programme, held every Wednesday, which the church said has brought deliverance to many people from “foundational hooks, yokes and evil covenants.”
Others are the Monthly Vigil, held every first and last Friday of the month; the Annual Seven-Day Power-Packed Revival, held in the last week of March; the Annual Six Hours of Praise, held on the first Sunday of July; and the Annual Convention, which takes place in the last week of September.
The church also holds an Annual 21-Day Fasting and Prayer Revival from December 1 to 21 every year.
Pastor Moses Aromasodu also reflected on his decision to leave a thriving banking career and return to Nigeria from the United Kingdom, where he had resided for about 10 years, to enter full-time ministry.
“What shall I say other than the faithfulness of God? It stands for those who are faithful to Him,” he said.
“Therefore, I would say I am not there yet, though age is no longer my friend. But in all, I am more fulfilled than all those years.
“To God alone be the glory.”
Aromasodu further said that the convention is designed as a season of spiritual renewal, worship, revival and thanksgiving, with the theme drawing attention to the biblical assurance of God’s appointed time to favour Zion.
The programme will hold at the ministry’s worship centre located at Plot 2, Jide Ojobaro Street, Jay Hotel Bus Stop, off Nuren Yusuf Drive, Alagbado, Lagos.
The church invites members of the church, Christians and residents of Lagos and its environs to participate in the various programmes throughout the week.
