The family of renowned gospel music minister, Evangelist Joseph Adebayo Adelakun (Ayewa), has issued a public disclaimer and legal notice, warning against the circulation of what it described as false, misleading and defamatory content concerning the veteran minister and members of his family.
In a statement dated July 16, 2026, and released under the banner of Ayewa Gospel Music Ministry (AGMM), the family said it had observed the spread of unverified information across various social media platforms.
According to the statement, the family dissociated itself from the publications and urged members of the public to refrain from relying on or sharing unverified posts, videos, audio recordings or messages relating to the family.
The statement further disclosed that legal representatives had been instructed to take appropriate action against anyone found creating, publishing or distributing false, defamatory or privacy-infringing content.
It also advised individuals responsible for such publications to immediately remove the materials, cease further dissemination and refrain from disclosing confidential personal, medical or family information.
Reaffirming its position, the family stated that it would not engage in public discussions on private family matters, while calling on bloggers, media organisations, content creators and the general public to verify information before publishing or sharing it.
The family expressed appreciation to well-wishers for their prayers, understanding and support during the period.
The statement was signed on behalf of the family of Evangelist Joseph Adebayo Adelakun (Ayewa).
