Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, is a day that will be fondly remembered by all the members of God’s Mercy Revival Ministries (GOMERM) worldwide and the entire invitees and participants at this year’s 2025 special Covenant Day annual programme of the church held at its massive Mercy Campground located on Km 4 Papa Lanto Road, Off Sagamu-Ibadan Expressway, Ofada, Ogun State
It was a day that Jesus truly descended in the midst of His people with His presence and His resurrection power to bless lives, transform destinies and change stories; moving His people from zero to hero and from glory to glory.
Themed “Covenant Power of Resurrection of Hope, the service attracted several thousands of people from different parts of Lagos and other cities across the country. Ministering mightily in the power of the Holy Ghost during the service was GOMERM’s Apostolic Set-man and General Overseer, Dr. James Akanbi.
From the moment the apostolic general overseer of the fast spreading GOMERM stepped on the altar exuding divine power and authority for his ministration, it was a consistent and continuous release of prophetic declarations, prayers and words of knowledge backed by the unction and anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Akanbi, while explaining that one of the most powerful things that a person can ever encounter is the power of covenant, declared that by the blood of the covenant of Jesus Christ all prisoners in demonic bondages at the meeting are set free. Also, while invoking the call and the covenant of God upon His life, the amiable global preacher declared this year’s meeting as an impartation service that would bring about glorious encounters with God in the lives of all the church members and the entire participants at the Covenant Day service 2025.
A major highlight of the service was the special covenant session when the highly anointed and intensely inspired prophetic general overseer of God’s Mercy Revival Ministries (GOMERM) led the congregation in rededicating their lives to God; promising to serve the only living God for the rest of their lives as the Lord gives them their various heart desires with profound testimonies at the programme.
Dr. James Akanbi later prayed on the prayer points brought to the covenant Mercy Campground by the people in their hundreds; declaring and prophesying to all the prayer points with instance testimonies following at the one-day powerful service. Aside the powerful prayer sessions ushering in the main service of the day, the church choir, The Zion Voices, had ministered in awesome songs. There were also heart-lifting testimonies of healing, deliverance and divine favour, evidences of what the faithful and the covenant-keeping God of the GOMERM commission of Dr. James Akanbi had done during last year’s edition of the yearly Covenant Day meeting of the famous church.
This year Covenant Day 2025 service ended on a high and joyful note with a special thanksgiving praise party led by the guest gospel artiste, Tobi Akuraku, who, with his energetic back-up singers and gifted instrumentalists, led the huge congregation in joyful praise and hearty thanksgiving to God Almighty.
The service was concluded with merriments as God’s people celebrated Jesus; our resurrected Christ and Saviour before travelling back to their various homes, full of great faith, hope, excitement and high expectations believing they would return to the anointed Mercy Campground next year’s Covenant Day 2026 to share the mighty testimonies of what God of mercy and wonders has done in their lives.
