Dr. Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi is a respected business leader and investor who has successfully established diverse businesses, including SIFAX Global Shipping and Logistics. He is the Chairman of SIFAX Group, a conglomerate with investments in Maritime, Aviation, Logistics, Oil & Gas, Financial Services, and Hospitality.

Aside from SIFAX Global Shipping and Logistics where he serves as the Chairman, his other businesses include Ports & Cargo Handling Services Limited, Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc, Sky Capital and Financial Allied International Limited, SIFAX Off Dock Limited, SIFAX Logistics Company Limited, SIFAX Shipping Company Limited, SIFAX Inland Container Terminal Limited and Mac Folly Hospitality Limited (owners of Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja), among others.

He is a graduate of Law from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and also holds a Master’s in International Law and Diplomacy and Urban Logistics and Transportation Policy from the the same university.

He is a recipient of the prestigious national honour of Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) and he is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Djibouti in Nigeria.

He is a Fellow of various professional institutes, amongst which are: Nigerian Institute of Financial Management (FIFM), Nigerian Institute of Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (FIFF), Certified Institute of Shipping (CIS), Nigerian Institute of Shipping (NIS), Port & Terminal Management Academy of Nigeria (of which he is also the Chairman), Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria (CBAN), Institute of Directors, Nigerian Society of Maritime Researchers and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria.

Dr. Taiwo Afolabi is a recipient of different honorary doctorate degrees from various universities in Nigeria and abroad, including Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, European-American University, Dominica Republic, Commonwealth University, Belize and most recently an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration from Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Oyo State.
