Dr. Oladele Soga Johnson, General Overseer of Jesus Liberation Ministries and President of Unchain Africa, has called on Nigerians to consider giving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a second term, arguing that continuity in leadership would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms and deliver better results.

Dr. Soga Johnson made this position known in an advocacy message titled “Why President Tinubu Deserves the Opportunity to Complete a Second Term,” in which he identified four major considerations in support of the President’s re-election: the economy, experience, performance and common sense.

Acknowledging the economic difficulties confronting Nigerians, the message notes that the administration’s reforms in public finance and the foreign-exchange market have imposed hardship on many citizens. It, however, argues that the country has also recorded improvements in economic growth, public revenue and external reserves.

On the economy, the advocacy maintains that Nigeria needs a productive environment capable of generating employment, attracting investment, supporting local industries and creating opportunities for young people. It urges the government to build on reported improvements in economic indicators to achieve stronger growth and more affordable living conditions.

Addressing the issue of experience, Dr. Soga Johnson argues that governing a complex country like Nigeria requires knowledge of public administration, political negotiation and economic management. He maintains that the experience acquired during the first term should be deployed to strengthen institutions, improve policy implementation and deliver better results.

On performance, he stresses that the first term has established a policy direction and produced measurable economic changes. However, he insists that a second term must be judged by tangible improvements in the lives of Nigerians.

These, according to the message, should include affordable food, stable prices, improved security, increased employment, reliable electricity and better public services.

The advocacy also cautions against evaluating leadership solely through anger or blind political loyalty, urging Nigerians to consider available evidence and the alternatives before them. It argues that continuity deserves consideration when it offers a credible pathway to completing necessary reforms and achieving better outcomes.

Describing his position as an argument for consolidation, accountability and results rather than unconditional political support, Dr. Soga Johnson says Nigerians should continue to demand a government that listens, corrects its mistakes and makes national prosperity visible in the lives of ordinary citizens.

He concludes that if the Tinubu administration can demonstrate that it is best positioned to deliver these outcomes, voters would have a reasonable basis to consider re-electing the President for a second term.

The message further maintains that Nigeria’s future must be built on sound economic management, experienced leadership, measurable performance and informed political choices.
