Archbishop Gbenro Seeks Church Transformation Through Supernatural Empowerment

ABEOKUTA — Archbishop Dr. Amos Dele Gbenro, President and Founder of the International Christian Charismatic Episcopal Organisation (ICCEO), has emphasised the need for Christians to demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit through effective ministry, spiritual empowerment and practical Christian living.

Gbenro made this known in an interview with Christian Benefits Magazine ahead of the ICCEO Supernatural Summit and Inauguration 2026, scheduled for October 19 in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He explained that ICCEO was established with a vision to train and equip members of the Body of Christ towards spiritual maturity and effective ministry.

According to him, the organisation’s understanding of the supernatural centres on demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit in contemporary Christian ministry.

“For ICCEO, supernatural simply means demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit in these last days,” he said.

The Johannesburg, South Africa-based cleric disclosed that he received the call of God into the healing ministry while attending Bible school. He attributed the healings and testimonies associated with his ministry to the preaching of the Word of God, prayer and the teaching of Scripture.

Reflecting on his Christian journey, Gbenro said he gave his life to Jesus Christ through the Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), where he received biblical instruction and experienced personal transformation.

He said his ministry engagements, both in Nigeria and abroad, had reinforced his conviction that the Gospel should be accompanied by the manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s power.

Explaining the purpose of the forthcoming summit, Gbenro said the programme would bring ministers and Christian workers together for spiritual impartation, training, empowerment and preparation for greater responsibilities in ministry.

He disclosed that the October 19 event would also feature the inauguration of ICCEO leaders into their respective offices.

The archbishop said pastors, evangelists, apostles, teachers, prophets, bishops, archbishops, deacons, deaconesses and other church workers had been invited to participate.

He expressed the hope that those attending would receive spiritual and practical equipping that would positively influence their churches and communities.

Gbenro acknowledged that organising the programme had involved challenges, noting that the pursuit of a vision required perseverance, commitment and faith in God. He, however, expressed confidence that the event would fulfil its intended purpose.

In his message to Christians and the wider public, the cleric urged believers to take the Gospel beyond words by demonstrating their faith through the power of the Holy Spirit.

He said the Church needed spiritually equipped ministers who could serve effectively and contribute to transformation within their congregations and communities.

Gbenro concluded with a call for Christians to go into the world and make God real through the demonstration of the supernatural, describing this as central to the vision behind ICCEO and its forthcoming summit.

The ICCEO Supernatural Summit and Inauguration 2026 is scheduled for Monday, October 19, at 11:00 a.m. at End-Time Church, 1/3 Elite Road, Oke-Lantoro Junction, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
