As preparations intensify for the forthcoming 2026 Women Awakening Mission Conference (WAMC 2026) of Golden Gate Bible Church, Lagos, holding from September 2–4, 2026, in Lagos, the General Overseer of the ministry and host and convener of the annual conference, Rev. Dr. Martina Jaiyeola, has challenged women to return to God’s original purpose for their lives through a spiritual and practical “reset.”

In this interview with Christian Benefits Magazine’s Funmi Olarinde, she speaks on the relevance of the Women Awakening Mission to the overall mandate of Golden Gate Bible Church, its specific vision and focus, the inspiration behind this year’s theme, “Reset,” and the transformation she expects the conference to bring to women.

How would you like to be introduced, ma?

I am Rev. Dr. Martina Jaiyeola, the General Overseer of Golden Gate Bible Church, Lagos.

What is the relevance of the Women Awakening Mission (WAM) to the overall mandate of Golden Gate Bible Church?

My ministry centres on the Woman Awakening Mission. It is a ministry that exists for the empowerment of women. We have an annual conference to empower women with the knowledge of the Word of God, among other things that would be useful to them, including health and financial management conferences.

We help women identify and live out what God wants them to be, and also help them pass it on to the next generation.

Specifically, what is the vision and focus of the Women Awakening Mission in fulfilling the mandate of your ministry?

Our target is women; to help them live the lives God has called them to live. We know we can only achieve that through their families and communities. The theme for this year’s conference is “Reset” It is a call for women to return to the original state in which God made them and to what He expects of them.

What inspired the theme, “Reset”?

Over the years, I have seen women leave a lot of things undone, thereby raising children who are not aligned with the Word of God. I have also seen women grow tired and become unwilling to continue.

Just as the Scripture has called women helpmates, we share with and encourage women on the things they need to do as helpmates. God cannot commit to us what we cannot do. If He places us somewhere, it is because He knows we can do it.

What are the challenges that might prevent a woman from resetting?

One of the major challenges is being without support from her husband. Some of the challenges also come from the relationships that exist around them. There needs to be a mindset shift in the way we relate across our different places of influence.

What transformation should women expect from the conference?

Women should expect a wake-up call to consecration. We will talk about the areas in which we can succeed with the required mindset shift. We will also have a medical talk on what women can do to take care of their health. We believe God for the transformation of many things.

What areas of life particularly need a spiritual reset?

I would say marriage and finance. We want to teach women how to build financial capacity.

What inspired you to select the ministers who were invited to the conference?

I was led by the Holy Spirit. We prayerfully brought them together.

What lasting impact do you expect from this conference?

I am trusting God to see the mindset of women change. Our target is the hearts of women towards life in general.
