Archbishop (Prof.) Mrs. Mary Oluwaseun Ajisafe (J.P), the Overseer of Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries, Surulere, Lagos, relishes God’s glory and favour as she celebrates 35years of her call to ministry and 25 years of the founding of Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries with the church members, fellow church leaders, friends and associates of the ministry all over the world. The prayerful prophetess describes the yearly double celebrations as a testimony of divine favour in this interview with Christian Benefits. Excerpts.

Please, give us a brief introduction about yourself

I am an evangelist and a prophetess by calling. I am an ambassador of Christ as Overseer of Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries, Surulere, Lagos. I’m happily married to Chief Apostle (Dr.) Isaac Ayodele Ajisafe (JP) and blessed with lovely children.

How do you feel celebrating 35 years of your call to ministry, and 25 years of the founding of Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries?

Thirty five years have just rolled by but it seems as if I am just beginning. Over these years the Lord has been quite gracious to me and the ministry. It has been a journey of divine favour. That’s my testimony of how God has lifted us beyond human imagination.

Please, share with us some of the impacts of the church these past 25years of its existence?

Foremost, the church members have obtained the greatest gift of God, which is the salvation of their souls. I’m always conscious of the work God entrusted in my care, which is to witness His redemptive power to the world. The church members, because of the salvation of their souls, know the importance of evangelism and commit themselves to doing it (soul winning evangelism) at least once every week.

What informed Praise as the theme of the yearly double celebrations every first week of October?

It is our expression, confession and conviction that God deserves our praises on a daily basis. He manifests Himself greatly in our lives and in the ministry on a daily basis. God is faithful to us at Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries on a daily basis.

Share with us your background before your call to ministry 35 years ago

I was born in Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C) Oniyanrin Mission House Ibadan, Oyo State. My father, Pastor Joseph Ogundare (a.k.a Awayin o); now late was the Area General Superintendent (AGS) of C.A.C Oniyanrin, Ibadan. My mother Mrs. F. O Ogundare is a deaconess in the same church. I hail from Efon Alaye, Ekiti State but grew up in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State. I had my early education at Trinity Home Nursery & Primary School, Methodist School II, Akintola Road Ibadan and Onireke High School, Sabo, Ibadan, Oyo State. Thereafter, I proceeded to Osun State College of Education, lla Orangun, Osun State where I studied Economics/Social Studies.

Aside secular institutions were you educated in any theological institution?

I started my theological education at Agbara Jesu Wa Sibe Bible Training Institute, Apata, Inaolaji, Ibadan, Oyo State where I obtained Diploma in Bible Study. I further my training in theology at Robert Institute College; an affiliate of University of Columbia where I bagged both Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Theology as well as Doctorate Degree honour as Doctor of Divinity (D.D).  I also studied at Great Achiever University College and Seminary, Spain; an affiliate campus of Team Impact Christian University, USA, where I obtained Doctorate’s Degree in Missions and Church Management (D. Miss) Honorius.

Let’s have a look at your services in the body of Christ generally in these 35 years

My service foremost unto the Lord started in 1988 when I received my first call to ministry from the Most High God. In 1989, I commenced full ministerial work as a Revivalist, Evangelist and Prophetess. I traveled round ministering the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I continued my evangelism activities till I heard the voice of God directing me to establish a church. I obeyed and established Peace of God Ministry in 1998. God has been my backbone. I am a matron for many Christian societies. I joined the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) as a grass root member and remain an active member till date. In recognition of my meritorious services I have been honored with over 31 awards from PFN, WOWICAN, Ghana, Spain and United States of America. I am also a two-time recipient of the Benefits Awards for Missionary Excellence (BAME Award) and also my adorable husband, Chief Apostle (Dr.) Isaac Ayodele Ajisafe (JP) as BAME Award recipient. I am also a frontline partner of Christian Benefits magazine since over 18 years now.  I was consecrated Bishop by Inter-ministerial College of Missionary Bishop. I was bestowed Archbishop by Preach The Word Soldiers of Christ Seminary Association of Gospel Bishops. I was decorated Brigadier-General of ULS Chaplain USA. In 2021 I received an award of Ambassador of Christ. By the grace of God I have ministered the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ winning souls across the world in USA, UK, Rome, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana to mention a few.

In these 35 years in ministry have you at any point regretted serving God?

I have never for once regretted serving God these past 35 years though there have been times of challenges. But in all of these, victory is always sure.  It’s too late for the devil to stop me! There had been a lot of challenges especially before we acquired our permanent church land. It is a battle to establish a church in Lagos state. It is only in Lagos preachers work for years without a permanent place of worship.

If Jesus tarries in the next five years where do you see Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries?

My vision is to see Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries spread across the globe with vibrant branches for soul winning for Christ.

How will you work at achieving this vision?

We will work at achieving the vision by committing myself to more and regular prayers since I don’t belong to any occult group. God always answers my prayers. Satan is always out to attack us after any revival and deliverance programme I conduct as a prophetess and deliverance minister.

Tell us some of your low moments both in life and in the ministry

One of my low moments in life was when I was sick and hospitalized and rumours went wide that I was dead. Another one was the incident of fire outbreak in my house. It was a very devastating incident but the Lord rescued me and my family.

Share with us too your high or happiest moments both in life and in the ministry

One of my high moments was when I was awarded Honorary Doctoral Degree and the prestigious Benefits Awards for Missionary Excellence (BAME Awards) from Christian Benefits media ministry being my first award. The BAME Award attracted several other awards to me thereafter. My happiest moments however were when I got married to my handsome husband and when we had our first child.

What is your anniversary message to the members of Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries on this 25th anniversary of the church?

My anniversary message to all Peace of God Apostolic & Prophetic Ministries members home and abroad is they should keep on running the heavenly race till we meet Christ without looking back; no matter the prevailing situation of life.
